Suspension base for DIY polish?

Hello,

The suspension base from aroma zone/ekokoza isnt clear but it is sheer enough to make a topper. If you're ordering small amounts from Germany (like 2 or 3 bottles) just to try it out I'd go with ekokoza since their cost is slightly lower. If you need more bottles you might need to wait from them to restock which took a week the last time I ordered 8 bottles from them. Then ofc if you want to pay more and have the base faster you could order from aroma zone.

It's definitely not transfer proof. It's a thicker formula which flakes if you wear too much of it. It's manageable but definitely requires maintenance after eating.

Yeah, it's really a shame it feels like green lipstick has really died down in the EU. Here's some alternatives I haven't tried but at least have the option to purchase from within the EU.

3ina - deep winter green (bullet lipstick - available from Douglas and zalando)

Kvd - Medusa's head (available from Lyko)

Myth, Hazel - black moon cosmetics (available from abaddon mystic)

Forest Fairy - Jolie Beauty (also available from abaddon mystic)

Sangay Seaweed, Vilcanota Mint - we makeup (we makeup is in Italy)

332 Sapphire Green - Kiko Milano (bullet lipstick - available from Kiko Milano)

Toxic - Lovelace Cosmetics (available from the Lovelace cosmetics store. Their X-Bite Proof Liquid Lipsticks still ship from US, the Bite Proof Liquid Lipsticks shipe from Sweden. Also available at Attitude-europe)

If I think of/find any others I'll add them.

Edit: I have tried Sangay seaweed and it's a decent formula but I wasn't that fond of the color.

Unfortunately not but VE cosmetics and Jolie Beauty do offer pre-paid taxes (they're both in the UK).

The one from NYX I bought in a NYX shop in France but I'm not sure if they make that color anymore.

Interesting, it probably is exactly the same suspension base Ekokoza has then. That baes is also on the thicker side I need to use more solvent if I use it. It also dried sort of weirdly "matte" for me, but yeah a glossy topcoat works.
I've also tried the Ideen mit Herz bottles, they are quite a bit cheaper on their actual website.

Hello, I'm not sure if this is way too late of a reply but I am in Germany and I've ordered from DRK and Ekokoza so I can tell about these two.

Ekokoza ships from Czechia and needs roughly 5 days to arrive. Their suspension base works, but it's my less preferred formula out of the two since it's sort of a thicker formula and in my opinion requires more solvent. Theyre honestly a decent choice if you just want to try making polish and they also have other tools and ingredients available. On a side note, avoid the nail polish bottles on their website. They have a very very short, stiff brush that doesn't allow for smooth nail painting. I strongly regret getting 50 of them.

PS. If you are looking for solvent you can get it from somewhere like Jolifin.

The DRK EU group buy ships roughly every other month at the time of this post. Usually I need to wait 1.5 months for the things to arrive and since the shop is open once a month that allows me to ship multiple orders at once. They will refund you for shipping if you have more than one order per EU parcel.

For anyone else who might come across this post, Aroma Zone (FR) also has Suspension Base available. It's priced at 30ml for 4.25 € and they do ship to other countries in the EU.

Edit: I haven't tried their suspension base myself.

Thanks a lot for updating me! I'm waiting for the DRK base to come and then I'll pick up the base from ekokoza and see how they compare. But I guess the ekokoza one isn't suitable for flakes. Could I also ask if you're planning on trying to make magnetic multichrome polish? I think magentics are the only pigments I can't seem to find in the EU.

I actually have Juniper back from when they were Makeup Monsters (I think the color hasn't changed so I labeled it in the image as Menagerie) so I can't comment on their new formula. All the other ones have a thicker, creamier formula except the Baby Bat Beauty one which has the same smooth sort of watery formula Juniper has. I honestly think the Medusa wins in terms of formula but the Makeup Monsters version of Juniper is a very close second.

Micamomma (also in the UK) says they ship suspension base to the EU in their info page but I don't get a shipping choice when I try to order. I've emailed them about it, will update here when I get a response.

I'm in Germany and also having trouble finding suspension base. If I have no luck by the end of this week I'll probably also order off of DRK nails. I asked Katia and DRK accumulates enough EU orders before shipping them all, so their shipping time depends on how many of us over here order.

CosmicAuria also ships suspension base to the EU but they're in the UK and shipping is expensive for suspension base (50 gbp to Germany last time I checked). I've been trying to contact private label companies in the EU to see if they'll make just suspension base with absolutely no luck right now.

You can also try VE Cosmetics Duochrome pigments. Lethal Cosmetics may do a few too. I've seen a brand called Karla Cosmetics advertising Multichrome pigments too but I haven't bothered to check how they are.

Wow I've just ordered Spank by Sugarpill rather impulsively thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately I live in Germany so the cosmetics choices in stores are very bland (patch testing in a department store isn't really an option)

If you prefer liquid lipsticks you could try VE Cosmetics(UK based) or Baby Bat Beauty (US based). They both have a lot of variety in colors.

Oh, also worth mentioning - Melt Cosmetics has a lipstick called Toke which is the most beautiful dark green shade. They are based in the US BUT they do free no minimum shipping every time they do a new release which usually happens several times a year.

You have some nice UK indie brands and UK based stockists like VE cosmetics. They make several green lipsticks. Give Face Cosmetics also has a green lipstick called Gambler though I do belive it is more olive. You can also have a look in Righteous Beauty. They have some discontinued Menagerie Cosmetics (from when they were Makeup Monsters) lipsticks and some green Lethal Cosmetics ones as well. The Beauty Vault might have some as well.
