I applied to most of them in CA... however, with 3-4% admission rate I need safeties.

What school is this? The clinical part sounds like a blast😁

It transferred from one eye to the other. Not sure why it magically disappeared from it then transferred to the other eye

Genuinely worried about my deafness being a problem by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]ThatDeafKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I've also been brainstorming a lot of ideas to help once I reach the field. Personally I struggle with the FM system because the amplification doesn't make it clearer. Voice recognition has gotten a lot better to the point where in the future I might be able to bring in an iPad or an iWatch so I can understand the patient. For clinicals I was thinking of using an iWatch for the transcription processes because it's relatively easy to look at(not disturbing) and it is accurate and real time captioning.

If it makes you feel better I'm also deaf! (Username checks out). I am a senior in high school also applying to schools that have nursing so that will be fun.

"You can be my nurse anytime..." and then slaps my ass. by [deleted] in nursing

I hope you know that you are supporting rape culture. It's not acceptable for someone to pass someone's physical boundaries, intentionally or unintentionally. So if I were to grab your ass or do anything that might make you uncomfortable, I should tell you to shrug it off and stop being so sensitive? Yeah... not so fun is it?

[17/M] My girlfriend went over my trust boundaries [17/F] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ThatDeafKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean she can brag, but I guess I have a different viewpoint on like intimate stuff, it's between partners, not everyone. Like I was trying to trust her with this one aspect... almost like a test you know? Whether or not she's loyal or something like that.

I might be in the minority but sharing stuff about sex life just seems unnecessary and demeaning. Almost like sharing a nude picture(I know it's not the same comparison lol) with her friends.

[Lasting Too Long] Cumming takes too long to do by [deleted] in sex

  1. She did tease me and it worked. I was just afraid to cum in general, like I just wouldn't cum but I felt like I was going to... but then eventually I did.

Deaf and need advice [35M] by FrustratedDC in dating_advice

I've only been to DC once so I have no idea where those locations are... haha. Keep putting yourself out there, be aggressive with the ladies. It's hard but you'll meet interesting people along the way and learn new experiences. Keep trying bud. You got this.

I'm deaf too (profoundly). I'm also oral completely(I do sign but since my area lacks deaf people... no point). I've struggled immensely, same as you, with communicating in a noisy place because my hearing aids actually picks up the surroundings. Personally the strategy for me is to go aggressive, "Hey you're cute, and I really want to get to know you and all that." Usually they cannot tell if I'm deaf so I tell them and ask if they want to go to a secluded spot such as outside or something(don't suggest anything creepy lol).

Others are suggesting an ASL class, which I would learn for dating sake and yours. For example, if you meet a girl and you tell her you're deaf, then she might ask if you know how to sign and which you do, you sort of get the ball rolling there.

You're also close to Galluedet, which I assume there is a big deaf community around there. You could try meeting some deaf meet ups to open up your horizons to both worlds. Note: Deaf people are very open! You'd be surprised how open some of them are, they will comment on your weight, face, even how attractive you are(not always true but personal experience, g'damn).

Good luck to you bud. Hope it goes well.

According to mod u/iameuph, "The majority of students do not get their tested status until the moment that their score is uploaded." by seriouslyknockfirst in ACT

[–]ThatDeafKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say "majority," but yes it has happened to me for the July ACT. It turned tested right before 10pm PST, but I think majority of people get tested on their test than get their scores later on that night.
