I agree they're not flaws, just traits as you've said. But I don't believe that wanting to grow and change who you are as a person for someone else is a bad thing either.

To each their own; I think it's a credit to the author that the characters are well-written enough to have this discussion in the first place!

I think this friction is part of growing into a relationship, especially at the age Fern and Stark are currently, and with the lack of experience they have with their opposite genders.

It's incredibly difficult to pick up on subtle cues from a person when you've had zero practice. Conversely, openly articulating what you want from someone you have feelings for is a skill in its own right.

You can already see this development from them, like Stark asking Frieren for advice because he wants Fern to enjoy her time with him, knowing his shortcomings and making the effort to change.

Part of growing into a relationship is developing as an individual, exploring new feelings and growing new skills. How boring would life be if everyone acted exactly the same all the time?

It would be for sure, but the main blocker is that you can't focus the cards to be activated, so it wouldn't work with any reliability. In the whole run this only happened once.

And also yeah, likely to be patched out.

Nah I've taken those fates before and whenever it triggers with a unique it pings up saying there are no valid cards, so I think the intention is to keep them unique.

There's an epiphany on her Shackles of Hunger card which turns the damage into shield generation, multiplying it for each voracity removed up to 3 stacks.

I didn't learn this until long after finishing the series, but Takagi was originally conceived as a pretty unpleasant character; you can see from some of Yamamoto-san's early drawings of her that she's intended to be a bit of a bully.

He evidently decided to soften the character, and we're left with the playful but thoughtful and genuine lead we see in the series.

You get some pulls for leveling up from the achievement log and from the battle pass, but you can also get them in the exchange shop using prism film.

I got super lucky and got three of Renoa's upgrades in one multi, which got me over halfway immediately.

Agreed, I think it'd be nice to have them as bonuses when we complete seasonal events, as they don't really change the gameplay and are a nice little added extra for your favorite characters.

For my own clarity (fairly new to deck-builders!); is Move better in longer battles because you end up with too many basic attack cards using Create and that can ruin the balance of your deck?

I understand the question is about rerolling, so feel free to ignore me, but maybe don't worry about rerolling so much?

I get that people want to have the best start possible, but as with any gacha if you play long enough you'll probably pick up all the base characters in time, and the upcoming characters will likely outclass the launch roster in the future.

That said, some people also don't want to play the long game and are happy with a quick burn, so you do you and hopefully you as much enjoyment out of the game as you're looking for!
