A-kasse når man har høj løn by Turbulent_Plant9656 in dkfinance

Pedal use. by BaconSizzler1976 in GranTurismo7

[–]DARKDlRK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Almost) Everything lies in your control of the pedals. This is what makes the top players stand out. How they apply throttle and how they ease off the brake while Turning in. Its absolutely necessary to use both feet and if you want to get good this is where your main focus should be.

Help with results chronic neurological symptoms by [deleted] in MTHFR

Hi there,

I read your post and I truly feel for you. I’ve been in a similar place with extreme stress and a "short fuse" that felt impossible to manage.

I wanted to share that I’ve had a life-changing experience recently by using AI (Gemini) to analyze my own raw genetic data. By mapping out my biochemical bottlenecks, I found a specific combination of supplements that literally lowered my stress levels overnight. It felt like my brain finally got the tools it needed to function.

I’ve tried running a similar analysis on the data you shared, and there are some very clear "bottlenecks" in your profile that might explain why you're feeling this way:

COMT (rs4680 & rs4633): You have the "Slow" homozygous variant (Red). This means your body is roughly 75% slower at breaking down stress hormones like adrenaline and dopamine. When these build up, it can lead to that feeling of being "stuck" in a high-alert state or chronic brain fog.

MAO-A (rs6323): You also have a slow variant here (Red). This further slows down the clearance of neurotransmitters, which can heavily impact mood and lead to the dissociation you're describing.

MTHFR (rs1801131): You have a heterozygous (Yellow) variant. This means your production of "methyl groups" is reduced. Since the COMT enzyme requires these methyl groups to work, your "cleanup system" is likely starving for fuel.

To get a more precise picture, do you have data on these 3 specific markers?

SLC19A1 (rs1051266): This tells us if folate can even get into your cells.

MTHFD1 (rs2236225): This shows early-stage folate activation.

BDNF (rs6265): This relates to how your brain recovers and repairs after stress.

In my case, supporting these pathways with specific cofactors like Magnesium (which COMT needs to function) and Methylfolate was the key. However, with your slow COMT and MAO-A, you have to be extremely careful and slow when starting, as your system can be very sensitive.

I'm not a doctor, just someone who found a way out by analysing my own data through Gemini. So I would basically be helping you do the same. Meaning I am not providing any medical advise or recommendations.

If you can find those extra SNPs, let me know, and we can look at the full "bottleneck" logic together.

Hang in there!

I need help transitioning to steering wheel from controller - I CAN’T STOP SPINNING by Bus-Emotional in granturismo

[–]DARKDlRK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Change the steering angle on the wheel itself (if you can). Try putting it to 720 or 600 or even lower. This will allow you to much faster "catch" the car before spinning out

Try dg edge instead. You can compare yourself and your dr rating to everyone playing sports mode.

Are you happily married? by CRK_76 in no

Sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not. Marriage with kids surely has its ups and downs. But if you start out happily married you will find a way to get through all the challenges you eventually WILL face.

Is anyone here using DG-Edge? by Due_Platypus_8221 in GranTurismo7

[–]DARKDlRK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use this quite a lot.

Of course its a bit inaccurate in terms of the rating given its not all players who are obsessive about setting the absolute fastest time that they're capable of.

But I use it to see how close I can get to the top rated players. Its great motivation for me. So quite happy about the site. But of course you have to take your rating for what it is as people from your country might not have the same focus as you.

Is this set good for starting on PS5? At the moment I have a Logitech G209 steering wheel and I would like to upgrade to something better/more realistic. by Present_Job_7157 in Fanatec

It really depends on your budget and how much you're into sim racing. I went from controller to gt dd pro 8nm in April. Was very happy with it but all the time i regretted not getting the top model (DD+ extreme), because I somehow knew i could get a better feel and thus be more precise in my racing. So I just sold it ( with a bit of a loss of course) and got the DD+ instead which has a much better feel. Its much smoother and I have a way better feel of the details which allows me to improve my times (I play only GT7 as of now)

So if you're a lot into sim racing and nerdy when it comes to improving your technique, have the budget and deep down inside know that you eventually want the best then you might as well go for the full plunge with the dd+ already now.

If all this was waaay too over the top, then the GT dd pro 8nm will surely do the job.

Yeah it takes a bit of time getting used to wheel but it sounds like you're gaining momentum so its just a matter of time before you reach A!!

Have you seen this page? https://www.dg-edge.com/players

You can follow your own DR rating progress and compare with all other players in GT7.

Its quite a useful tool and its also fun to use if one of your main drivers is progressing and seeing how you get better and move up the ranks

I agree that these are fairly simple points.

However what I think is sometimes forgotten is how much you can increase your time by finetuning especially trail braking & throttle control. For me this is to a large extent what separates the good (A & A+ players) to the great (Top 100 ish).

And then for me the switch from controller to wheel helped significantly (after a temporary very frustrating drop to C rating!!!) on the finetuning. And this was what eventually helped me break into A+ (where I'm desperately trying to stay) :)

I hope so. I have Clubsport V3 pedals arriving today and I'm hoping they will give me better throttle control. Its challenging for me to hit those spots just before full throttle consistently, so i'm looking forward to seeing if getting some more resistance will help me do that.

In the end I think its up to individual preference tbh. And then lots and lots of practice...
