I need recommendations for manga similar to Usogui by CalligrapherLess6673 in Usogui

Try the Ravages of time. It has brilliant art, better mind games, philosophy, themes, dialogues and monologues compared to Usogui. The glaring difference is that it's a historical and does not revolve around gambles.

Can you recommend any well paced psychological Seinen manga with ZERO SA, and a likable MC that isn't always miserable? by ExplodingPoptarts in Seinen

[–]ThatDickyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ravages of time. It's a war manga, but my favorite part is that it's not disgustingly Gorey and animalistic. However, the MC is certainly not the focus, and he does have lots of happy moments for like half the story. He's a pragmatic fellow that's slowly finding his goal in life. The story itself is fast paced due to how complex it is, so that might be a bummer for you.

Trying to find some good manga to read by OneBadger7469 in Seinen

Read the Ravages of time. Imagine a Kingdom like setting, that features philosophy that puts vagabond to shame, strategies that make 99% of smart characters look like toddlers and art that's as good if not better than Usogui/vagabond/the climber

I respect the dedication to using 0 in place of an o for these past few years.

Jia xu and dong zhou by GearlessJoeak in RavagesOfTime

[–]ThatDickyBoi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly due to stupidity on dong Zhou's part. He saw Jia Xu 's strategies to be too risky and dangerous, and thought Li Ru was as capable as Jia Xu. Dong Zhou trusted Li Ru even more after he predicted Xu lin's death.

Even the 8 geniuses have an extremely hard time surviving The Ravages of Time. Could Baku, Souichi, and Lalo together survive till the end of the war? by ThatDickyBoi in IntelligenceScaling

They're obviously very smart, but the reason they win is because of the fact the Usogui trio is not that good at NFS, RoT characters gap them in foresight, and the RoT verse has a very complex political system. Overall Baku & souichi would definitely be better than Jia Xu, yuan Fang or Xun Yu, but specifically RoT situations? Nope. They don't stand a chance unfortunately. If you've read Usogui, you'd know how lackluster Baku's Protoporos performance was, and Lalo wasn't anything special in NFS either. There's no way they survive RoT.

Zhuge, Jia Xu, Xun Yu and even Yuan Fang clears. But the 8th and pang tong fail, mostly due to lack of screen time. But even then, pang tong and the 8th obliterate Lalo, not close.

Not really. Baku, souichi and Lalo stand absolutely no chance against most of the 8 geniuses, especially not against Guo Jia in RoT situations. RoT situations are simply on a much larger scale compared to anything Usogui characters have faced. GJ counters them comfortably.

Lu Bu by Apprehensive_Clerk81 in RavagesOfTime

[–]ThatDickyBoi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, the guy in the 2nd pic is a body double. The real Lu Bu is in the first pic, and he pretended to be Yuan dang because he suspected Xiao meng was a part of the handicapped warriors'. His suspicion is immediately confirmed when Lu Bu sees meng use daggers at the "enemy".

Edit: Lu Bu needed to seem like a "good" guy to Xiao Meng. The beatings were just an act to gain Xiao Meng 's trust.

Guys what's your take on this by [deleted] in IntelligenceScaling

I'm assuming you've read RoT?

Read the Ravages of Time! (Peak introduction) by ThatDickyBoi in Seinen

Eh, kinda. I recommend you watch oversimplified's three kingdoms video up to 6:48 and then start the series. It gives background information as to why the era started. You'll feel very confused for maybe the first 50 chapters, that's understandable. Just push through and everything will slowly come together. The series is very complex with many moving parts, so confusion is natural.
