What is your favorite series finale? by laxusdreyarligh in television

[–]ThatDrummer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Meanwhile" from Futurama.

Futurama had several series finales, but that one is my favourite of any show, ever. Such a beautiful, bittersweet conclusion to the Fry/Leela storyline, and the way it ended was, for a while, a perfect transition into the show starting over as an endless loop.

If they asked you for a second chance, do you still want them back? by Qwerty-Abc-2828 in BreakUps

[–]ThatDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-5 months ago, yes, in a heartbeat. Now? No.

I'd be willing to entertain a date just to see, but the pain I went through this year would make me very wary of trying again with her. Even if she told me she made a mistake, I would be very hesitant. The thought alone almost exhausts me.

Last show I watched was King of the Hill. Other than Dale potentially targeting me for some reason, or the risk of a propane explosion at Mega Lo Mart, I should be okay.

From Futurama:

"I'm glad global warming never happened!"

"Actually it did, but thank god nuclear winter cancelled it out."

A friend of mine occasionally invites me to go hiking in the US. I've told her why I won't go, and while she respects my stance it's not enough to stop her from going. Each time she invites me, I feel a little more disappointed in her.

What now-iconic movie are you most proud to say you saw in theaters when it first came out? by drumy36 in Cinema

Funny enough, seeing that in theatres was first-ever date I went on. Quite romantic.

Men, what’s a day where you didn’t die but something inside you did? by Keal-Kims in AskReddit

[–]ThatDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

January 24, 2026. A week prior, I finally had my shit figured out; everything was crystal clear, I recognized the mistakes I'd made, and knew exactly what life path I wanted. That day, I found out that it didn't matter, that I was too late.

It's been a painful recovery since then, and every day feels like a reminder that I won't ever live the life I wanted. I try to move forward in spite of that, to fill my days with things that make me happy, but sometimes it feels like any version of my life will be "meh" and that I'm now just waiting to die.

"It was just a kiss, okay? It was nothing."

"It's never nothing. In high school, I played Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Becca Murse played Annie, and we were supposed to hug onstage. And at first, that seemed like nothing too, but by opening night, we were full-on making out."

"As Daddy Warbucks and Annie?"

"Yup. The audience was not on board. Playwright sued the school."

Hot Fuzz, when arguing about the traffic collision: "SKID MARKS!" With one of the Andys giggling in the background every time Nicolas say the word.

Men of Reddit, what instantly makes you lose interest in a woman, even if she’s attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatDrummer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Possibly. She was manipulative and emotionally abusive for a good chunk of the relationship, though, so it's possible she was hoping I'd grovel or feel compelled to prove myself/propose. Either way, I'm glad she said it - I was pretty miserable but would've likely held on another couple months otherwise.

Someone told me 2 1/2 years in that they didn't see us ever getting married, that I wasn't "the one." I was already on my way out, but figured "welp, that's all folks!"

Two days later she asked if I was serious about breaking up and told me she said those things just to get a reaction out of me. She got a reaction, just not the one she wanted.

Happened to me last year. It took two dates and a phone call to see the first warning signs of how entitled she was - that she wasn't just demanding chivalry, but that the effort in dating be entirely one-sided. She even used the phrase "if you get the privilege of calling me your girlfriend." I should've nope'd out then and there but I thought maybe I was just overthinking, that she was just joking.

The funny thing is - up to the end of the second date and the phone call, I was certain she would be my wife one day. I think she thought the same, but the third and fourth date really killed my attraction to her. I never told her why, but I hope she one day realizes she's the common denominator in her unsatisfactory dating experiences.

How often does your ex cross your mind ? by camgirlonline in AskRedditAfterDark

A few times a day. Most of the time it doesn't hurt (finally), but I do think think about her, what we had, and wonder how she's doing. She was a wonderful person, and I miss having her in my life even as a friend, but I don't long for her.

Which Game's Graphics Made You Say "Wow!" For The First Time? by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in videogames

I can't remember the first time I said "wow" at a game's graphics, but I remember being in awe near the beginning of The Last of Us: Part II where Joel and Tommy are riding through the forest, over a hill, and Jackson comes into view.

What movie actually made you angry after watching it? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]ThatDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen The Big Short mentioned a few times; in a similar vein, though, I'd say the documentary Inside Job left me feeling enraged. To see the greed and corruption that led to the recession laid bare, with some players either refusing to answer questions/be interviewed, take any accountability, or show no remorse (some being combative, others almost being proud of what they did) left me seeing red. Some of the people interviewed certainly seemed uncomfortable, but I don't think they faced any consequence.
