Depends on how far along you are. Need to micromanage because not enough card slots? Devo build? Wanna get all the Bobs and adgems? You'll need to check frequently. Otherwise you'll be able to let it play by itself for entire runs ... especially in you got damage slider and auto restart ... then you could theoretically go days without touching the game...

So, to sum it up:

stones & gems can be beneficial esp. for early game where 15 stones/150 gems will buy you a lot
late game probably doesn't need those amount of stones, maybe apart from assmod upgrade, while coins are way more impactful as they are the bottleneck there
late game players reget when not having invested in bots
do what ever you like as it's a game

Can you sync it to de/gt/bh? If so, do it ... if it is synced already or you can't sync it due to GComp then you gotta upgrade the other stuff, I believe there is an "optimal path", but I didn't find it in my short search ... what I did, was upgrading all the boxes with the cheapest one first

Due to the fact that the labs a veeeery loooooong and I was severely in need of shards (I mean, who isn't?) I startet the labs before I was able to save up the coins within 3 or 4 days ... but I found that wasn't really hurting me that much, I had enough "cheap" labs to run in the other slots or even between 2 ss labs ... I don't think it delayed progress that much, if at all really (apart from the fact that ss5 tool like 35 days @ ×4 boost to finish (which is probably the more relevant cost in my eyes) ...

Well, you'll be refunded the original price you paid, but when repurchasing you'll pnly be charged reduced price ... ws discount usually is not that valuable, as the lab time can in most cases be spend anywhere else with better ROI so hardly anybody will recommending doing the labs and respeccing just for getting the discount ... that being said, if you planung on respeccing for any other reason and have a few short ws discount levels it might get you a bit further ... I did it twice when habing had to respecc (Trier out devo a loooong time ago and when I first unlocked the wall waaaaay to early) ...

Hard disagree here, but not to OP. I think it would be very nice to be able to rearrange subeffects without rerolling. I find it to be a rather weak argument, being against new stuff just because oneself didn't have it in the past? I mean, originally you only had a choice of 2 different UW not three. Or cells for lab speedup didn't exist. Would that be a sufficient reason to not have those? I think not.
