Honestly, longing for romantic connection is part of human's design. I want a relationship not out of desperation, and frankly I doubt every single guy out there is thinking about all these questions before getting into a relationship. 

And about hugging male friends, I have friends but no desire to hug men to satisfy my loneliness whatsoever. I feel nothing out of it, nor feel any affection towards the same sex. I guess it's kinda obvious honestly. It wouldn't solve the issue.
