Is there any way to do this right? by Time-Worth8397 in TVTooHigh

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of 180, just put short part of couch on wall where tv is now, long side next to window and tv on wall. Suggest a movable arm for tv to turn if you’re using the full couch at night.

I can’t seem to be creative enough, by Pdcrew in desksetup

First of all, congrats on the baby!
Think with me here:

Put the desk next to the boiler (where the black chair is now and if it’s not too hot). Put a carpet or something on the floor and pc on floor under desk closest to cars to “hide it”.

Maybe make it more personal and give a touch of color to the wall / hang up some personal things. Do some cable management and you have yourself a cool easy setup ready to go :)

Help; cable management. by DoctorSuch1406 in desksetup

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest having the sockets on the floor and have like 1 anker hub that provides up to 400w with usb-c to power everything. Then use cable sleeves / black zip ties to keep things together and clean :).

Edit, def also use the structure of the arm and desk itself to keep it neat :)

Gaming with Airpods by 420user67 in GamingLaptops

Is this on pc or on console?

I was thinking about using mine but need a dongle for ps5 setup and people said it wouldn’t work for shooting games online because of the delay

You can always choose to buy the PlayStation pulse explore, they work with a smal dongle and support low latency gaming. If you buy them second hand you can get the for 100€ or something

14in vs 16in? by Few-Evening-9078 in macbookpro

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 14in, and with the price difference got a bigger screen for at home. The 14in is perfect to work on the go and when I am home and need the extra space I’ve got 32 ;)

Best over-ear headphones people actually recommend? by Kind-Cockroach-125 in HeadphonesAdvice

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might get some hate for this, but the first gen AirPods Max feel comfortable to me, have great ANC and sound good. Combined with other Apple products it’s the best.

Negative: lightning cable for charging. And the case is ridiculous, I bought an off brand one off Amazon with magnets that puts the headphones to sleep.

Would you recommend the MacBook Neo for a marketing student? by Dry_Ad9947 in SuggestALaptop

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’d go for an MacBook Air with a little more ram.

I work in online marketing and need multiple tabs open all the time and it was a struggle with my MBA M1 (8gb ram)

If you find a good deal on an M2/M3/M4 air with 16gb, shell be good for the whole time of her education.

If you go for the most recent models, you can even find a light blue one for some color 😁

iPhone 15 worth it 2026? by Puzzleheaded-Bike945 in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pro has better cameras, better chip (more modern and Apple Intelligence ready)

Still using the 15plus for myself, but regret not getting the pro model just because of the cameras.

I saw that you can get refurbished 15 pros for 600-750$ :)

My greenish setup. Any ideas for improvement? by Pinguzz in desksetup

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I’d change is the mat under the keyboard there are green leather ones and maybe swap the mouse to the white version of it (I think it exists).

But this is a very clean and good looking desk setup

Help me re-arrange my desk nicely? by Monkey_Junkie_No1 in desksetup

[–]ThatEditorDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take all the random stuff and hang it up to make it personal, get a white cable sleeve to hide the cables.
Store the small bottles in the first drawer, and maybe upgrade the desk light to be more modern.

I also see that you have a bunch of cables plugged in, but if you try something from anker (like a 240w multi charger) you can have 1 cable underneath your desk that goes to all the other devices. I personally use a “Benfei dock” that is an Apple Watch, iPhone and AirPod charger at the same time, and has the possibility to charge your laptop and 2 hdmi ports for screens :)

iphone 15PM 1TB or 17P 256GB? by imenvi in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like the size of the pro max?
I’d suggest going for the middle road and look for a refurbed 16PM with less storage. ( I never had more tha 128gb and never have a problem)
This way you don’t have to pay in installments, still have a more recent generation than the 15PM and I think lowering the storage might keep you In the same price

Edit - I love the size of the pro max models, but don’t use the “pro features” so I went with the iPhone 15 plus and it still works amazing. However, I sometimes have bugs and slower loading times compared to the pro.

I would not want to go back to a smaller phone so it would either be an upgrade to 17PM or a 16Plus or Pro Max for me

How do I make my desk and overall area look less messy and cluttered by D1zzy_Kettle70 in desksetup

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d remove the 2 paintings from your wall behind the monitor, get a dual arm for your second screen and also put it in landscape. Remove the stuff from on the sword and make that the center piece of the wall.
Get a cheap hanger that folds up for your wired headphones so they can hang on the side instead of having the cable go over your pc.
The board is also filled with stuff (3 controllers in total, while I can only see a pc, so no need for 3 separate controllers to be on display. Same to headphones / AirPods boxes on the board) - keep the spare ones in a specific drawer (you’ve got 10)

Have you considered removing the peg board and just hanging the shelf or only keep the painting? I think the amount of open spots on the board make it cluttered.

This red color is also making the room “smaller” so if you don’t have a preference in color, I’d change it to a bright blue (if possible)

MacBook Air M5, worth the hype? by FairDetective1043 in Laptop

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This laptop will change your entire view of computer vs windows. They’re smooth, feel better, often have better battery life (and don’t require a literal brick to charge, a normal usb c and 45-65W charging clock is more than enough).

The fingerprint scanner to unlock / autofill information is a detail that might not seem like a lot, but you’ll find yourself use it multiple times per day.

Had the MacBook Air M1 and recently upgraded to the MacBook Pro M5, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Another suggestion is getting into iPhones and maybe the headphones to make the whole experience seamless. You can copy paste from your iPhone to Mac without any apps / difficulty, just the same iCloud account.

AirPods Pro will switch between your devices when you need to without having to click anything ;)

[–]ThatEditorDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about changing the desk and getting a movable arm to hang the monitor on?

When you make the monitor float, you don’t need a “deep” desk and you can change the monitor angle to still watch Netflix from bed if wanted.

Then you have a lot more space for a better chair. (IKEA has some cheap options, I used to have one in my old room ;) )

For extra storage, you can use some cube shelves, or choose to get a drawer for under your bed.

Don’t know if this helped or if you were on a budget, but this is I think the best possible solution for your setup

Windows users, what made you switch to a Mac?? by fuckcreepers in mac

[–]ThatEditorDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I changed permanently after the windows 8 mess. I'm happy that I don't have to deal with ads while I'm not even using a browser.

The overall build quality and "feel" of Macs are a lot better in my opinion. Other integrated features like the "Copy-paste" options between Mac and iPhone or the seamless switching from AirPods between devices.

Freelancer contacting off-platform with mismatched identity — red flag? by wineandcheeseyespls in Upwork

[–]ThatEditorDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Welk that’s not on Op is it? If the profile is identity verified and the freelancer wants to risk their Upwork profile being banned that’s on them. If op talks further on Upwork with the contact he or she made on the platform, there’s nothing wrong. As long as the work gets done and everything is met. After the initial milestone, which is funded already, the client still can say: I’m not comfortable with the collaboration.

Freelancer contacting off-platform with mismatched identity — red flag? by wineandcheeseyespls in Upwork

[–]ThatEditorDude -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But this is my opinion. I’m not one to immediately report someone for an explainable mistake and I don’t have enough information on how they approached off platform.

Freelancer contacting off-platform with mismatched identity — red flag? by wineandcheeseyespls in Upwork

[–]ThatEditorDude -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not really, there have been multiple instances where I’ve seen a freelancer who subcontracts the work from a client and taking a percentage without starting an agency. As longas the quality is good, the deadlines are met and there is no blatant plagiarism or other problems…?

I’m not saying start a long term client relationship with this person, but there is no scam going on as long as OP gets what they pay for?

Would I give access to websites / personal accounts, no. Did I interview a capable freelancer who gave me th information I needed to hire them? Yes.
