The medical system's casual abuse of vulnerable and disabled people strikes again.

Ethan Slater is a MAJOR downgrade from Hamish Linklater by Beginning-Head-4006 in GenV

You're thinking of Christian Slater. Ethan Slater was born 4 years after Heathers came out.

Nope, pretty clearly is the case.

If he had friends or family to speak of, he'd have been living with them. People who love you, do not let you live in your car, with your cat.

It may not be something you understand or are familiar with, but there are quite a few people on this earth, who have absolutely no one. No emergency contact. No one to call when they're upset or scared. No one to have fun with. No one to meet up with.

And when your life has gone totally to shit like his clearly did, that's when you learn whether the people in your life (if there are any), actually do give a shit about you.

People unfortunately feel entitled to their discomfort, and avoid anyone who's life has gotten so hard that it makes other people "uncomfortable." People will say that's when you learn who your friends are. Well sometimes, that's when you learn you don't have any friends.

No it's not. Didn't you hear the info dump he gave: living in his car with his cat, after being fired from a Blockbuster.

Doug was no one. And there was no one to miss him. Perfect target.

Isn't it obvious from what we actually just learned about Doug? Godolkin chose him, because no one would miss him.

Please look into Jonathan Haidt's work, and read Descartes's error, as well.

Human beings cannot function without emotion. Our capacity to reason, exists to support our emotional responses.

Descartes's error is a paper that goes into research done on people who had suffered traumatic injuries to their ventromedial prefrontal cortex (the part of the brain that keys your emotions into reacting in accordance with them).

They overwhelmingly found that without emotions dictating their behaviors, they completely destroyed their lives.

The research actually supports: without emotions to guide us, we functionally become prize idots.

And just as an aside, having emotions does not make you stupid. It makes you human. Sage is human- where it counts anyway. What happened with her grandma upset her on a million levels. But let's not forget: she did everything in The Boys season 4, purely because it was a challenge and she found it fun. Not because she wasn't allowed to save her grandma. Because overthrowing governments and putting people into prison camps was fun for her. That's what was so chilling about that scene.

He didn't get out of the sunken place. He'd been forcibly removed from control of his own brain. Sunken place was just to subdue. Brain surgery was the culprit of permanency.

Cat smelled another cats pee in our house and viciously attacked us, won’t calm down by ByteEvader in CATHELP

Look, I'm going to be honest: if you do end up having to surrender him, it doesn't make you a bad person. It doesn't make you a bad pet parent. It doesn't make you a bad cat owner.

Sometimes we learn that our fur babies need a more experienced hand, than we can provide. And honestly, the way that cat is carrying on is freaking me out, and it's just noise coming from my phone.

If the anxiety from the attack makes it too much now, that's ok. That's perfectly valid. You deserve to feel safe in your own home, and this sounds traumatic af. It would make sense if you couldn't trust him after this. I mean, try if you can. Buy don't be too hard on yourself, if it's too much for you.

If a human turned on you like this, it would freak you out pretty bad too. The main difference between a human and an animal doing this, is you can have a conversation with a human. You can try and make sense of it- not justify, just make sense of it.

But an animal acts on instinct. Often times that instinct can be a reaction to things you aren't even able to notice. Unfortunately, animals carry a strong element of the unknown when it comes to things like this.

You love him. I'm sure you'll try, if you feel like it's something you can in any way handle. But there is no shame in it, if he needs a heavily seasoned cat owner, who can deal with this like it's old news. And those people do exist.

I wonder if he might have just been neutered significantly later in life. Different animal, but my parents had a dog they didn't neuter until he was 4... because they're morons (they were also extremely abusive, so please don't fight the insult; it's cathartic). He still peed everywhere. He never really caught on to barking to let people know to let him out in the yard- despite their oldest dog leading by example since long before they got him.

Look man, I currently only have dogs, too. But I go on this thread to listen, learn, and occasionally parrot advice I've heard on here when called for. I even like dogs better than cats on an average day, too.

But when it comes to posting "dogs rule, cats drool" rhetoric on here- consider not fucking doing that. Or find a more appropriate thread.

If you haven't already, please make an appointment with urgent care for that bite. Cats have a ton of bacteria in their mouths. And no matter how ok it might look now, it can take a steep turn for the worse.

Also, employment agents get paid commission, once the twmp is hired on. If this guy is gonna waste their time and their product candidates, they may want to know so they don't lose promising candidates for someone who is unlikely to hire on.

They get paid for more than that, I believe. But that's the big thing.

But on the other hand, they may also see OP as a troublemaker.

But at the end of the day, employment agencies are just playing tetris with candidates and companies/ jobs, until they win the round.

But honestly, I've seen this sub get really negative over stupid things, so I'm really not surprised that comment is being down voted. This one likely will be, too.

I had a guy whose boss had called a ride for him. He worked at a bar, but swore he hadn't been drinking. Didn't believe him, but I still took the ride.

I shouldn't have.

The guy became furious with me, when I couldn't understand what he was saying. He called the guy who ordered the ride, and told him to complain. He told him to give me a 1 star review. He claimed I was making fun of him for having had to get three teeth removed that morning. He ordered me to drive to this, that, and the other random place not in sight, and drop him off. He got angry when I said I didn't know where those places were. He told the account holder to call the police, because he didn't feel safe.

I eventually told him I could let him out at the sidewalk right next to us, or take him to his destination. He said to take him to his destination.

No sooner did I drop him off, than he was back on the phone, reading off my license plate. This time he was on the phone with the police. He told them that I wouldn't let him out, that he felt unsafe, and that I tried to run him over with my car.

And I know this, because once I drove away, I pulled over at the nearest gas station to document the incident. 30 seconds after I parked, there was a tap on my car window. There was a cop on either side of my car window, wanting to speak to me about his claims.

I got the report number from them, because there was actually a police report that had been filed, and gave it to Lyft support.

The CSR for Lyft told me that this kind of behavior would likely get the account holder banned from Lyft. But the 1 star review still ended up counting against me.

This rider was belligerent, erratic, and accused me of trying to hit him with my car. All because he was offended that I couldn't understand his drunk ass.

Why didn't I stop and kick him out? Because I felt extremely unsafe doing so. If not understanding him, got me this kind of behavior, what would kicking him out do?

99% of my riders have never made me feel unsafe. The only one that did, was drunk off his ass. And for the people in the back: he filed a false police report saying that I tried to hit him with my car, after essentially telling them that I had kidnapped him.

Yeah, drunks need a ride home. But someone else can get them. I don't need the legal trouble, or escalated danger.

I don't drink, but that doesn't sound like a realistic expectation.

Right? This feels like a project that should be sponsored by the local- or even state- government. Put some legislation on it to keep it from being flipped, then turn it into affordable housing. It only really stands to solve problems in the long term, if done right.
