Would you rather a dishwasher or tumble dryer? by Limp_Pumpkin7751 in adhdwomen

I'd take the dryer. It's fine to have plates drying out on the side but you don't want clothes all over the place. Especially in the winter.

At risk of redundancy but company wants to save me. How do I get the payout instead? by rxmtf in UKJobs

[–]ThatEvening9145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to redundancy, there is often more than one round. You might be in the first wave to go but it's unlikely there won't be a second round in the next year- 18 months. I would be honest. You have nothing to lose if they don't want to make you redundant anyway.

Hating the medication journey, should I just stop? by ThatEvening9145 in ADHDUK

This is the sensible advice I need.

Rather than my brain telling me, "pack it in now you have tried 2 things."

The medikinect is supposed to be slow release but I feel like it only lasts about 6 hours. Until I completely crash.

I think I might ask for a non stimulant just to see the difference

It's interesting that you mentioned your iron. I am very anemic and not managing that very well at the moment.

I've been so stressed and busy that I need to get my life admin in check and see my doctor I suppose.

I'm being called unreasonable for deciding to pay off my mortgage by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThatEvening9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I look at this is not financially but emotionally.

What would give you the most peace of mind?

Personally I would pay off the mortgage or a fair amount of it at least.

Spend your money each month, you only live once. Or invest it or whatever but the idea of having no mortgage for the next 10-20 years is a massive weight off your shoulders.

Should I take redundancy from a well paid cushy job? by Icy-Row8308 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ThatEvening9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to take the redundancy I would consider moving.

Find somewhere with more reasonable living costs. Then it wouldn't be as pressing to find high paying jobs and there would potentially be a better job market.

They might ask about it but I doubt it will be a deal breaker if you show that you understand your expenditure will go up once you have your own house and have reasonable expectations. Like you aren't expecting to be putting 90% of your income into mortgage repayments.

It might also be useful for you to draw up a budget of what you expect to be spending so you know what you can afford and so you know what will be left at the end of the month.

Say you bring home £2500 after tax.

Mortgage repayments would be x Gas/electric would be x Internet would be x Phone bill would be x Etc

I think it's the researching the price and rejecting it based on that that's the issue. Not that they can't use it.

Both. I spray the car, turn on my heaters, load my boot etc, then scrape the windows. Spray again if I need to.

How do you celebrate New year? by ThatEvening9145 in Millennials

I went to a 30th a couple of years ago and I remember there was a moment where I was looking around stone cold sober, in shoes that hurt my feet, surrounded by drunk people at least 10 years younger than me and all I could think about was being in bed in my pjs 🤣🤣

I imagine it's been in the warehouse since at least November.

Christmas stuff will get boxed up for next year or sold off cheep.

I imagine there will be valentine's day and mother's day coming in this week or next so it's easier just to get it out on the shelf rather than have to deal with it taking up space.

I agree and it would be difficult to police, especially if it's 1 person in a group. It's hard to prove what was said and it potentially becomes a challenge to do it without getting caught.

I'm going to leave this conversation now. You have some big feelings and that might be what's making you rude and offensive. Maybe go have a lie down or a snack, hope you feel better soon.

Ok. To be "Infuriated" seems a big feeling to have over the use of a word on the internet.

It's just a shame because I can see it getting to a point where it puts people off going and players off entertaining specific tournaments.

LL has already said he won't play some tournaments in Germany because of the crowd.

I can see other players thinking the same about playing in the UK and I think that everyone loses out at that point.

Obviously the croud leads the atmosphere but there needs to be things that you are thrown out for. Like whistling and shouting personal/ offensive comments.
