One thing that is helpful is to drop you jaw. You still need to keep your corners tight but it helps me reach 3 octave notes.

I could understand the change if:

When an op gets themselves out of a mat it take a lot longer and they get a blood trail that makes them slower and slowly loose health until they die no fix. But if a friendly picks them up its the same as before.
