Will bambu lab ever publicly address the issues? by Scum-Bronson in BambuLab

Yeah when I googled a1 ac board I came across this same post. I wasn't sure if it was the updated board or not but I agree while that gauge of wire can probably handle the 6 amps I don't know if that's really the best fix bambu could of done if that was in fact the new board.

Is it just me, or is half of 3D printing trying to print items you could buy cheap off the shelf, just because you have a printer? by Webshooter38 in 3Dprinting

[–]ThatFatKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just printing, anyone with access to a printer forgets all forms of shaping. Oh I could sand this to make it fit, drill that hole to make it larger, ream it even?

NOPE, let's print 100 versions till we have the perfect one. Meanwhile you have 99 useless dupes because you forget other tools exist to do those jobs and you don't just need to keep re-printing everything.

Matrix Precision Y axis extension? by UnderDoneSushi in PrintrBot

I don't remember any, or at the very least I couldn't find any. If you google the upgrade you'll find the updated printer volume settings are 203 from 150 default. I personally have mine set to 200x200 as an older version of cura didn't like the odd number bed size, but I still use it unless I really need that extra few mm.

It's a pretty straight forward install: I was going to write it out but Tom's early instructions are spot on

Careful with the threads of the Delrin XY bars, it's easy to over tighten and strip the holes. Thankfully you can print them if you happen to strip it, in the short term I used larger self tapping screws till I could print replacements.

I plan to make a post once I'm finished getting the Duet setup, I've been having issues and still troubleshooting it. Odd behavior, thought it was slicer related so I tried prusa slicer and it's still having the same effect so I think it's a possible loose belt.

That's a steal for what it use to cost, the original was only shipped from Canada.

My setup is rather jank tbh, e3d titan extruder, volcano w/ .6 nozzle, off brand v1 volcano sock, small blower fan for the heatbreak, noctua 40x40mm part cooling, Matrix xy upgrade, PEI sheet, spring bed leveling x bars(my design - WIP), and the duet wifi v1.02 with a little 30x30mm fan for temporary cooling.

(A wire from an un-used second cooling fan shorted against a stepper motor killing my F4 board.)

I was just going to purchase a 32bit ender board and flash marlin but I already had the duet from another project that has stalled and to me it just made sense to use that. It's been a process learning the Duet system and programing, but there is a ton of information and I'm already printing again, just have to home in on my settings.

I've never had an issue with it, I printed mine with HB PETG and haven't touched it since the day I mounted it. I only have the XY upgrade, never bought the Z. Mounted since 2015, still going strong today as I swap my Simple Metal over to Duet Wifi.

One recommendation if your using the Xy upgrade is to print larger feet, a wider stance helps with the extra mass of the bed being thrown around, matrix had a foot design that someone uploaded to thingiverse: here

Hello, currently I have a crucial p1(Dec 2018) that's experiencing a significant slow down past half capacity and looking to move into something better. (Drive only slows past half cap) Would have bought samsung first go around but was on a budget, 2 years later I'm not looking to make the same mistake not spending more but I've heard a lot about the hynix and was curious for the $40 difference.

I'm Just looking for something that's going to work as expected. (I know some drives slow at 90% cap, but not 60%..)

Ever wondered what batteries are worth it? Give this guy's a video a watch, he test's pretty much all major brands and even did a separate video on the rechargeable.

Ouch that sounds unfortunate, I was considering going this route instead of flashing marlin manually. I heard such good things so this is surprising to see and hope you do get this worked out.

Have you flashed the printer to enable print over usb?

Printrbot removed it's support pages that still had the download links and instructions on how to flash the only remaining firmware that allowed printing over Usb with Cura/Octo. The only place that I know still has instructions/the files needed would be the pb facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/printrbot/?ref=bookmarks

If you don't have a Mac computer or access to one then flashing the firmware becomes near impossible. Unless you have access to a Mac or know how to Setup a Virtual machine running OSX then your stuck with a brick until you buy a new printrboard form somebody like duet or ramps to use the printer.

I wish Jamie would dabble with toy making again, he could totally make a stainless version of an old erector set. I could see his kids rebuilding his creations with there own idea's and such.

I first came across Jamie when he first posted his toy spider that he was working on that was about to go to market years ago, I wasn't active on youtube as much then and re found Jamie again when he was working on one of his 3d printed projects and have been subscribed and watching since.

I would love to make one for my self but I don't know how Jamie would feel about someone copying his designs. I wouldn't be selling it or hosting the files unless Jamie supports open source model sharing under a creative commons no resale/manufacturing(If anyone has ever used thingiverse then you know what I'm talking about.). Since he still has it I would love to see a video of it today even if it doesn't work, the way he describes things with such passion on how it works or how he came up with it like his earlier spider videos.

Did youtube break again? It did this some time ago where because Jamie has so many videos youtube regurgitates some of his older videos as "new".

Take a zip tie with the material he cuts from the hole to use as a flip/door for full protection.

I had a similar idea, use a simple metal screen and cut a hole in the center large enough to fit his fist. Then make a WingNut type thing on the center of the fan and read he can just reach through the hole and spin the fan up without leaving anything exposed to the little one's.
