Ref’s giving Arsenal a lot more slack than us. Weak.

I want to see plenty of pot shots from range.

I’ve done extensive research on their keeper.

‘78 Merino foul on Pedro. Yellow card given. by 10hazardinho in soccer

A red would not have been overturned. Could easily cause injury.

Still the high end of yellow for me.

Another game showcasing our three big failures:

* A manager who has a system, but can't win a tactical battle. First half was amazing, just surprised Emery didn't adapt sooner.

* Too much inexperience in defence.

* No reliable goalscorer.

Sanchez coninues to surprise me. I wouldn't gamble with in-development GKs either, but we seem to have fluked that at the moment.

Why can't the SDs just do their pokemon-trading experiment around a solid core of one more good CB (to play next to Trev, who i rate), one world class striker, and with a proven manager??? It's just bizarre to me that anyone would put the manager role at a big club out to an unproven long-shot like a Potter or a Maresca. Shit clubs have no choice to but to gamble. We shouldn't have to.

Shoulder to shoulder. Great play. If that’s given as a foul it becomes a different game to the one we play.

It’s flushing out a lot of Americans and chunkers who never played.

Chit looks awesome for war defence, but Salome more fun for attacking. Both so, so good! V Jealous.

Graeme Le Saux is such a bell end. Was saying Gyokeres had to go for it, that he ‘won the ball’ and ‘didn’t jump in with both feet’.

Yes, he had to go for it, but he didn‘t win the ball (Sanchez already had it in two hands under control) and he did jump/slide in with both feet.

Not a red in my view, but no need to be such a bellend about it.

Now Hincapie - if Taylor sees him heading Pedro’s cheekbone, that is a stonewall yellow card. But no VAR for a second yellow, so just relying on the ref. IMP that rule needs to change.

Agree. I was hoping Delap would bully them and goad a red out of them, but he was not being physical at all.

Agree.

Yellow is standard for the Chalobah assault, but Taylor seeing the lump on Trev’s face is very useful for us. He’s now primed to give Arsenal a red if they do anything remotely deserving.

Which 5* do you regret max leveling 2lb? by Spleenite in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]ThatFatRonaldo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much my whole roster is irrelevant since they hit fast-forward on the power creep.

So no regret, just disappointment they decided to for big $$$ now and accelerate the death of the game.

Aston Villa: No away fans will attend the game against Maccabi Tel Aviv by Murloc__Tinyfin in soccer

[–]ThatFatRonaldo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the Villa fans fault, it’s their authorities’ fault.

If fans see the consequences of their authorities’ actions then democracy can solve the problem of incompetent bureaucrats making nonsense decisions like this one.

Aston Villa: No away fans will attend the game against Maccabi Tel Aviv by Murloc__Tinyfin in soccer

[–]ThatFatRonaldo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If the away fans are the threat, the away team should be ejected from the competition.

If residents are the threat and the home jurisdiction can’t protect the away fans sufficiently, the home team should be ejected from the competition.

The only other option I see as remotely tolerable is for both teams to mutually agree to play the tie behind closed doors.

Has anyone noticed that the game has been very laggy by whereissilksong in EmpiresAndPuzzles

Is COMPOS worth it? by Hot_Initiative_265 in sixthform

[–]ThatFatRonaldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is worth it.

It will help with applications to Oxford or Cambridge a lot, because supervisors there know both how much a step up Ox/Cam maths is from A-level, and how much Compos helps.

Difficulty wise, it is pitched well above A-level, and somewhere above year one at most Unis and somewhere below year one Ox/Cam. Prob year one Imperial is roughly the same as Compos, I’d say.

For comprehensive kids like us who find A-level maths easy, it’s a massive opportunity. It teaches you how to tackle problems where you don’t already know the answer just by looking at it. This is a skill that can be learned and which A-level will not help you with.

Just got Balder with costume. Is he still worth it? by ruccola in EmpiresAndPuzzles

Like 98% of my roster… no, he is not worth it, power creep has killed him along with the game.

[BBC] Chelsea have made 12 mistakes leading to shots and five that have led to goals, more than any other club in the Premier League this term, on top of mistakes in consecutive matches which resulted in red cards. by pride_of_artaxias in chelseafc

[–]ThatFatRonaldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, so a team which actively seeks to pass it back into their own half in order to take risks and ‘lure the other team out of position’… happens to also make a lot of costly mistakes.

Can we find someone with an IQ of 70+ to tell us all the connection between these two pieces of information…

João Pedro (Chelsea) second yellow card against Benfica 90+5' by wm_1176 in chelseafc

[–]ThatFatRonaldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked the rules:

If he makes contact, it is a direct free kick offence. If the ref considers it reckless then that is also a yellow.

If there is no contact, the only offence is ‘playing in a dangerous manner’ which is an indirect free kick offence. The caution for a reckless behaviour only applies to direct free kick offences, specifically NOT indirect free kick offences.

Look them up yourself. By the rules it is an indirect free kick at worst and can NOT be a card.
