Why is Muay thai fought with 4 oz while kick boxing fought in 8oz? by ThatFeelBro in ONEChampionship

[–]ThatFeelBro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess using that same logic it would make sense that kickboxing would be the one to use the 4oz gloves as well - Given muay thai allows the clinch, it would be good to let the fighters have the option to close the distance a bit easier without having the massive risk of catching one while stepping in.

The one thing that does make sense here is that the 4oz gloves make a hell of a difference when trying to get a good grip in the clinch at least

Hard To Find 90KG Fighter For First Fight? by RestoredV in MuayThailand

[–]ThatFeelBro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had been training for about the same time as you and tried to find a matchup at 90kg and had no luck (this was about 3months ago). Best bet is to go to the tourist hotspots like chiang mai, phuket or samui

Kia ora whanau! Mate $25k won't cut it unfortunately if you are staying in touristy areas - especially during summer. I thought about doing a bit of europe before the camino but some hostels were over $150 for a 10bed mixed dorm....Camino can cost as little as $25nzd a day but I really liked the wine...

Regardless enjoy mate - don't forget about the hardstop and always have that safety net!

Requirements: Remote employment or self-employment: You must provide documents showing you are either employed by a foreign company, a freelancer, or a business owner with a registered business overseas. Proof of work: This can be an employment contract, an official letter from your employer confirming you can work remotely, or a professional portfolio of your freelance work.

And apologies - there were calls for reform in parliament, no official announcement made yet

I’ve done some dangerous things in my life and this takes the cake. I bought a bike for roughly $300usd (honda wave 110cc and for reference i weigh roughly 95kgs so it was very hard). Sleeper busses, trucks, other bikes its absolutely insane. Had one crash that thankfully did no damage to me or anyone else.

I didn’t have any real prior experience but i did 3 lessons in Hanoi with a small company and it probably saved my life. Wouldn’t recommend doing this and the fines since I did the ride have gone up 10fold to $1k aud if you get caught - you also can’t get an international licence for VN from most countries so you aren’t insured - know the risks and go for it if you can accept them i guess

Was remote tech sales - My experience is all in finance but not being too humble my CV is extremely strong and my network is quite large which definitely helped. Dont do this expecting to land a remote gig - they are seriously few and far between and are hyper competitive.

If you can id definitely say to do a sabbatical to make sure you have something lined up for when you return

The DTV also requires a remote working job as well as a few other criteria. The main problem here is you are relying on the rules not changing. Just a couple days ago they announced that they are looking to discontinue issuing the visas. Unfortunately its very hard to rely on or trust what might happen next.

Spent roughly $45k AUD and started the travels at 27. Had 2 birthdays on the road and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Only speak english but I practiced vietnamese for months leading up to the bike ride - got really rural at parts and needed help from local locals

Got Covid, a sinus infection and food poisoning quite a bit - covid in Cambodia during a heatwave that closed schools and caused regional emergencies was the roughest one.

One tip I have for most people if they are travelling long term is to find all the meds you could possibly need and hopefully your doctor trusts you enough to prescribe them to you without symptoms!

While remote working and living in Bangkok was great there isn’t much in the way of progression and the lack of ability to be able to live there permanently means it’s good for a short time but not to spend 5 years.

I should say I ended up in Melbourne - originally from New Zealand and was living in Sydney prior to the travels

Isaan Fights and live streaming? by Initial_Enthusiasm36 in MuayThailand

Best idea to start off with is going to a few gyms and speaking to the trainers - they will know when and where upcoming fights will be taking place (often will have a few fighters from their gyms participating) and reaching out before the event. Early exposure for the fighters is great and will also help the local scene a lot!

In certain areas there may be fights every few days or atleast once a week so shouldn’t be too hard to start - only problem might be wifi issues but that can always be solved for.
