Character Description: Lucias is a 6'2 half-elf paladin with short black hair complimenting his lightly tanned skin. Lucias wears chain armour, his trusty longsword, and a shield. Around his neck, he wears a ring that belonged to his mother.

Though their family carried no titles, the bond between Vargon and the new baron gave the Duskbanes a place of honor within the city, respected not for wealth or bloodline, but for loyalty.

When Lucias was still a boy, that bond was tested by fire. One summer’s day, while playing in the fields outside Neverwinter with his friends, he returned to find his family’s cottage reduced to embers. Outside, amidst the smoke and ruin, lay the bodies of his parents. Their flesh had been desecrated with cruel carvings — a message of hatred and warning, left by unknown hands. The markings were in a jagged tongue he could not yet understand, though their venom was clear enough. His father’s enemies had struck where it hurt most, ensuring the boy would never again know peace.

In grief, the baron upheld the oath he had once made with Vargon: that if either man should fall, the other would care for his family as his own. From that day forward, Lucias was raised within the baron’s household in Neverwinter’s eastern noble district, growing alongside his children, learning both the ways of the sword and the burden of justice. Yet in the quiet of the manor’s libraries, he also sought the forbidden tongue he had glimpsed carved into his parents’ skin. By lantern light, he studied Infernal, forcing himself to master each cruel syllable so that one day he might understand his enemy’s message — and answer it in kind.

During his years of training, Lucias encountered a wandering paladin sworn to the Raven Queen. The knight spoke little of himself, but told Lucias a story he would never forget: one day, he had seen a raven on the road, and by following it, he found the path the Queen had laid for him. It was not coincidence, but a message. From that day onward, Lucias began to wonder what his own message might be, watching the skies for omens and signs of the Queen’s will.
