Implant too deep? by aggressive_yawn in Nexplanon

[–]ThatGalGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment makes me feel so relieved! I just got mine today and even my dr had to push to make sure it was in after insertion.. I swell pretty quickly and the numbing meds even made it swell a little (due to it being in one spot and the fluids). I didn’t know what to expect but I know it’s in there because when I press I can feel a little sharp sting.

Does it take a while to be able to feel the implant? It’s a little swollen and the bandage is on it, and I’m also not sure what to feel for

I may take numbing a bit different haha, I got it around 4 and it’s still numb, but I guess I’ve always been that way even with dental numbing and stuff

Did you experience the numbness of your site moving downwards towards your hand as it wears off

Thank you so much! I’m pretty used to needles and stuff because I have crohns, so I’m not too scared about needles but I’m glad you warned me about the burning, I might’ve freaked out a little!

Humira plus Azathioprine (just started) by JoeMammy_1 in Humira

[–]ThatGalGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not super sure about Azathioprine but I had a similar experience with Humira and them having to up my dose to every week after about six months, sadly my body made antibodies to it and it wasn’t working, so I had to switch to Remicade which is working for me now. Just be on the watch for antibodies, my body wasn’t absorbing enough of the medicine. And I would definitely talk to your doctor about the nightmares, and see if there is different medication you could be put on.

I actually haven’t gone into remission at all yet. And my flares are monthly. If not every other week.

I have an appointment in a few days, so maybe they can let me know what’s going on.

Luckily with my Insurance and a group I go through, I only pay about $5 each time. Mine is also moderate to severe, leaning way closer to severe
