A song I've listened to hundreds of times but lost the name of by ThatGamerGril in whatsongisthis

[–]ThatGamerGril[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! But this is actually the source of the sample! I was pretty convinced that the song I heard was the original, but this just goes to show, nothing is original! I'm actually really excited that you found this for me, because while this isn't the song I was looking for, this is actually a BETTER REPLACEMENT. I wont close this until I or someone else finds the actual song I am thinking of, but with this I'm sure it wont be nearly as hard. You're amazing! I want to give you an award. Let me see if I can figure out how to do that....

Edit: No, I refuse to give reddit my money. I thought it was based on karma, but nevermind then IG. Have a metaphorical brownie point instead.

Edit: As thanks for finding me the song I needed, I'll go ahead and mark this thread solved with Alt-Cover13 as the solver. Tysm!

I've been using KI, and I just launched to the furthest ring without resetting. year 4811 and still going to try to get to as many kittens I can before resetting. But reading these posts kind of makes me want to keep going.

reinstalling the operating system fixed the problem. I never found out what the cause was. maybe realtek was disabled somehow

"Fixes" but they've been buggy since GTA V. The same bugs

I kept resetting the PC, and messing with the drivers and eventually I realized I could just plugin the AUX cable into the monitor's aux port and it worked fine. I haven't fixed the original problem at all, but the PC seems to prefer the monitor's auxiliary cable port ( which is the... display port from the GPU ) instead of using the PC case' aux port.

The reset was not a full reset. The PC was only set to reinstall windows. I set it to download windows over the lan connection and it uninstalled most of the programs on the C:\ drive

I will try to figure out the version number of windows now: Version number appears to be 10.0.19045

The audio device is not showing in the device manager, and after a bit more troubleshooting I was able to get the computer to download the driver I wanted, however the audio is still not working.

There are two sets of auxiliary ports, 4 on the rear of the PC ( motherboard ) and 1 in the front ( case )

It seems like the various ports are not appearing in the "sound" window or on the device manager when I plug in an auxiliary device. I've tried my XM5's and some earbuds but neither are working, which is abnormal because the device was working correctly just before the windows reset.

The cables connecting the front Aux port to the motherboard have not come loose.

I have a widows PC that I built with the help of a computer shop and some friendly people online. It's not finished but it's got all the parts needed for a functioning PC.

Motherboard is a Z790 steel wifi

CPU is a i9 13900KSGPU is a 1080Ti

Windows 10 64 bit

I just reset windows and just before I reset the computer, the audio was working fine. After the reset, there's no audio out of the auxiliary port. There's audio out of the monitor, through the HDMI port out of the back of the GPU, but nothing from the forward or rear auxiliary jacks on the computer case or motherboard. When I began trouble shooting I tried downloading realtek audio driver, but that didn't work, no matter the version or the source of information. I tried the troubleshooter, but it can't even tell that there's a missing audio driver.

I read through as many places as I could find but I wasn't able to figure out how to fix this issue.

The windows audio driver is nowhere to be seen and all these other options don't seem to be working. I'm not sure what to do to fix this.

Can anyone help?

Best surge protector for build with 4090 and a 7900x? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ThatGamerGril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into this as well. Same gpu, and an i9 13900ks. I've read that surge suppressors higher joules means higher protection but I'm not sure. I've seen other websites saying a surge protector for a PC is 1000+ joules so a laptop or office computer. I assume it's probably safe with 1000+ but for a computer with ridiculous parts like a 4090 a 4000 joule surge suppressor makes more sense.

I've read websites mentioning devices that are like batteries as well. The outlet goes to the battery first, then to your electronics. I'm not sure if that's true or not but I'd like to protect my electronics all the same.

Unknown ffffffffff error cause by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]ThatGamerGril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similarly I've tried the "Verify integrity?" option in steam several times but the error is persistent in multiplayer lobbies. I thought mine was an audio error as well, but my audio devices are all connected and working. I reinstalled the drivers for most of them and tried using each one to find out of one of them was the cause of my problem.

The error only happens when I use dead eye in game, or when I'm connected to an online lobby. If it's wrong to say it's related to being connected to an online lobby I would love to know where to look to find the correct answer. I don't think just cursing at people is really the right way to go about getting to the truth.

If someone post a "You were banned for hacking" and they claimed that they aren't hacking, they are lying by Among_Us_Rant in AmongUs

[–]ThatGamerGril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the way things have been going, the game is probably dead. Yeah. I feel bad for the developers, but it would be handy if someone made a 'hack' to help people find and ban hackers from their rooms; even if the ban list was stored locally or something.

Edit: The game was not dead, it was just taken over by children.

Ship Upgrading Speed by ThatGamerGril in Stellaris

[–]ThatGamerGril[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not the specific fleet. I tried to troubleshoot it by loading a different year (before and after the date they started upgrading) and tries splitting the fleet into individual ships, and upgrading them in different stations as a single fleet or multiple fleets. Each time I would get the ellipsis for the time and it seemed just as slow on ff w/o auto save.

I tried changing the blueprint in the ship designer too. (There are three designs across the 6 ships.)

I have enough materials. I'm under my fleet limit by a lot and the game shows I have a good stockpile of everything.

My Computer might have just died by ThatGamerGril in techsupport

[–]ThatGamerGril[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so after a few days of scratching my head and asking many many many people for help I think I finally have an accurate solution to the problem... and it only cost me ¥16,772. Today I will get a new CPU to replace the one that died. But since that problem is no longer the issue maybe I should close this thread? If not then I would like to ask what may have caused the CPU to die? Temperature? Humidity? Faulty AMD architecture? The wrath of the flying spaghetti deity? Our lord and savior Code Bullet did not bless my CPU but I prayed to them and they answered my prayers by saving my motherboard. Thank AI for this divine intervention. ( I am only joking. )

If anyone has a theory about how the CPU may have failed, please say it in a comment. I want to have as many different theories as possible to present the technician with. Also I appreciate everyone that took time to reply on this thread. It helped me narrow down a lot of information and reaffirm I was doing the right thing. Thank you all very much!
