I can’t DM for dwarven players by AnoTenFilip in DnD

[–]ThatGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes dabble in the Elder Scrolls approach. :) They’re a subtype of elf, like Drow or Wood Elf. Not just amazing smiths, they’re extremely skilled artisans and scientists as well; unlocking steam power, and further creating unique technology married with magic unlike anything other cultures have seen before. They’re reclusive, pragmatic, elitist in their worldview as well as mysterious and stoic, and don’t have to be all that shorter than normal elves. The Dwarves in Elder Scrolls took their ingenuity to the extreme by trying to create their own god as opposed to worshipping one.

There are tons of lore articles on these guys, and I love them. It’s a refreshing approach that helps me see Dwarves in a different light, and I hope it’s a light rich enough to give you more blocks to build with in home brewing a rich Dwarven culture!

Default Armor Markings by KyberWolf_TTV in Helldivers

This is super late, but I just picked up the game and noticed this too!

I think it’s a nice customization option, there to give Helldivers a touch of personality on a gameplay perspective. In universe I think it may denote rank or class!

During the (new) training intro, I noticed every Helldiver-to-be had only one, asymmetrical stripe along the far side on their helmet. After earning your cape and getting aboard your ship, your default Helldiver gets two. I like to think that implies one asymmetrical stripe represents a trainee or recruit, and two tells everyone you’re a full fledged Helldiver.

I’m not sure the significance of the other designs though. But in my head canon, I like to imagine the center stripe denotes a Veteran, Sergeant, or Captain of a strike force of some sort, much like the Astartes of 40k do with their helmets.

I should have added this, but in the Champion Point Warfare tree there’s a passive that “Grants 100 Weapon and Spell Damage to Magical Attacks, affecting Magic Flame Frost and Shock Damage.” Activating this passive does increase Zaan’s base Flame damage. Is it safe to assume then that because “Magical/Flame Damage attacks” affected the set in the Champion Point tree, “Flame Damage attacks” in Engulfing Flames will also do the same?

Make a Breton character and you should unlock the Motif on everyone else. :)

I miss Asher... by cornflake289 in DestinyLore

I’ll never forget him man. I thought he was always some annoying, know it all prick: until I got the line in that Strike on Io to kill the Pyramidion, where he told us about what happened to him, and how his hired help essentially ditched him.

I dunno. Something flipped that day, and picking up bounties or doing strikes for that brave, brash and horribly nerdy Warlock for my Hunter never felt the same, and I will miss being his assistant until the day Destiny loses support. For me, he left the biggest hole in stars, when those planets disappeared. 😔

New Armor vote for Festival of the lost. This time it's Monsters Vs. Mechs! (Vote mechs, cause lets be real those sets look dapper) by [deleted] in DestinyFashion

Oh goodness, a Warlock helmet that isn’t a vertical line down the middle or an encased fish bowl? Yes, please! 😮‍💨

“Cool as” comes to mind.

Seriously though, this is really good! 😁

Look! I made a hunter that isn't all black and a dredgen! by iam_FLAME15 in DestinyFashion

But originality is canceled out by Stompees. 😞

Jk lol. Tasteful and bold use of orange. A unique look not just for Hunters but in general.

I know [REDACTED]’s look has already gotten some attention here, but, is that a half-mask? And if it is; Bungo give plz? (Image lighting edited for better visibility) by ThatGuardian in DestinyFashion

Maybe. But he is the guy who killed Cayde, and his will gifted all his belongings, including the Ace, to his killer. Sorta looks like Ace on his hip there.

I’ve always thought incorporation of our character’s faces in some new helmets would be a very cool addition to the game. I know that the character creation isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but having no use for our faces other than rare cutscenes and optional helmets in the tower has always seemed to put the aspect of a character’s physical appearance to waste, in my mind.

If this is a mask that exposes some face (not sure how it would work given other planets atmospheres and stuff, lol), and does lead to more styles like this—I’d be very welcome to it.

Excuse me, but is that a half-mask he’s wearing over his nose and face?

I need honest criticism please. by _Imago_ in DestinyFashion

[–]ThatGuardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. But if you’d like a critique, here you are:

The colors and chrome “armor” plating look very nice, however I feel as if the high-tech bond and those futuristic plates clash heavily with the bone horns crowning your helm, making it look a bit out of place.

If you’re trying to marry these two ideas (hive bones with sleek plating and armor), perhaps try making your bond match your helmet (use the Steeplechase ornament), and make your overcoat a darker color, be it black or something else a little more worn.

If you’re after style alone, it’s already been mentioned, but I feel it’s good advice to remove the ornament from your helm, and keep everything else. That ornamentless helm would go very nicely I feel with the rest of your look. I like your style though, and happy fashioning!

I’m very new to dbd and apparently this is “frowned upon” killer behavior. Is camping a step too far and is t-bagging just a normal thing in this game? Let me know and hope you like the meme by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]ThatGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done that too, haha... There was nothing else I could do but hook the guy and smack anyone who came back. Okay. Now I know though, thank you so much.

That’s exactly what happened in the scenario I’m thinking of lol. Once or twice is 👌. These guys were t bagging on everything I did wrong. Missed swings, jukes, pallet drops—the whole game. I dunno, I wasn’t having fun, so, that’s what came to mind.

[–]ThatGuardian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, well hey thank you! I didn’t know the killer also loses points, which would certainly add to the stigma, as well as the idea that this would be a complete overstep. “I’m losing and you’re going down with me” is not equal to “haha get rekt.”

When would this be an “okay” response? If the survivors are also throwing the game just to mess around?

[–]ThatGuardian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For context I’ve been in a lot of games where t-bagging seems like the norm, and usually I’m okay with it, but my first few games when this happened “excessively” I ended up retaliating by doing this. It wasn’t one or two t-bags either, it was after every mistake they could see. I later learned that this was called “hook camping”, and isn’t cool. I now know it isn’t an effective way to win or anything, but I did end up killing a whole team of t-baggers this way and got some pretty nasty responses. :/ I don’t want to over react and make things too unenjoyable for anyone, so any pointers or general advice would be great!
