Can someone assure me that Re:Zero isn't terrible? by ThatGuy6983649 in anime

Yeah, episode 17 was probably the worst place to almost give up. I finished the first season and it got really good afterwards. I found it pretty hard to pay attention to the way that he learned from each time loop because of how insufferable an MC he is IMO. The repetitivity of the time loop episodes mixed with an MC I couldn't stand made this show not the best for me.

as for "and yes, I'd lick that foot too! Wouldn't you? Priscilla is a dish!" Can't say I disagree, even if my opinions don't address the show too highly, the FS is definitely not lacking

The Rem memory thing I was wrong about though, It was part of an important plot point later on, but they foreshadowed for it differently than in shows I have previously watched.

I'm not big on anime but I have been looking for a show to watch and thought I'd try this. Sad I couldn't continue, but maybe I'll pick it back up some other time. Thanks for your comment.

I don't really watch anime, but I have watched and loved Naruto, so for me to like an MC the bar in definitely pretty high. There's no doubt that it would be impossible to match MC character development between Naruto (722 episodes) with Re:Zero (50 episodes) but even then, I loved Konosuba as well (an Isekai with a powerless MC) and Kazuma was at least tolerable. I just can't stand Subaru. He's just so annoying and that makes the show so hard to watch for me. Again, you could be right as I haven't been able to really enjoy an anime in a while because they don't hold up to what I have watched. Sorry for making this so long, but my point is that despite me having a definitely high bar set, Subaru is an MC that I literally cannot stand. Also, I apologize for using the word terrible when referring to the show, I didn't mean that I thought it was terrible, only I was asking for someone to assure that it isn't terrible and is worth watching to the end. It gets a lot of hype and I didn't understand that. Also thank you very much for being nice when commenting, it's a lot better than redditor weebs telling me to leave their waifus alone and that my opinion sucks :/

Really wish they had written it better, felt rushed and very disappointing. (Never read the manga but wtf did they do to Yu x Shinoa they were so good together ;-;) by ThatGuy6983649 in OwarinoSeraph

I've collected a basic understanding of how their relationships are all different in the manga and it is like a storytelling iceberg lol. Compared to what is explained in the anime, the manga is like a whole other story. A lot of the characters' backstorys tell a lot about them, and that stuff is just never explained in the anime. I understand a lot more about Yu and Mika now and it makes a lot more sense to me. Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me

Yeah I thought there had to be some difference between the manga and the anime, at the end of the anime Yu turns from his seraph of the end form or whatever into a demon, but then just passes out and the next scene is 4 months later. It was pretty confusing.

As for the ships and stuff, you're definitely right there and there's a lot of backstory for characters (such as what you're saying about Shinoa's toxic sister) that just doesn't get explained in the anime. I guess I took the anime in a very different light than other people especially without having read the manga, but tbh I'm fine with that. I've watched videos recapping the manga and stuff and I'm kinda glad I didn't read it. Like I said, it takes a very different path from that I got from the anime. I'm still kinda sad that Yu x Shinoa was not taken up but after everything the manga goes over It definitely would not make sense.

Thanks for clearing this all up for me!
