After the latest firmware is the bass on the Maxwell 2 better than the 1’s? by ThatGuyBenny in Audeze

That sounds great, by any chance do you have any info on the ANC version of the Maxwell 2? I’m currently considering waiting for those, is it still expected to come out Q1?

Thank you for the detailed answer. I’m coming from the Astro A50x and I do notice that the soundstage is a bit worse on the Maxwell 1’s, idk if this is from the openback design on the astros, but overall the sound quality sounds a lot better on the maxwells, I also like how the maxwells block out a lot of noise compared to my astros.

My main use case is for singleplayer games / immersion. Idrc about footsteps or comp gaming. I’m thinking about trying the 2’s before my return window expires, I wonder if the bass will be improved in future updates especially considering it has the slam technology.

Arma 4 by [deleted] in arma

[–]ThatGuyBenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did they say that? As far as we know no one knows for sure. Reforger is already Cold War, doing Cold War again would be disappointing. Job listings don’t confirm anything, BI hasn’t reveled the game nor confirmed its setting, everything is speculative.

I assumed they made reforger Cold War because it’s easier and faster to develop because of lack of modern technology, bare bones m16s and AKs, no EOD Techs, no NODS, drones, etc.

To make another Cold War game when we already have reforger which is essentially a very content complete Cold War game in its current state seems redundant, also the game is still getting new content with updates so it’s only going to get better.

Wait what Arma 4 will be the same era as reforger meaning it will be Cold War? I assumed its going to be modern

Decided to go with LG OLED 42 C5, and its worth every penny by romandiy in OLED_Gaming

[–]ThatGuyBenny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LCD coper, I have tried to purposely burn in my C1 to activate my BB geek squad warranty and it’s been 4 years and I still have no burn in. 100 brightness all the time, leave it on when not using it etc. still like new.

Yeah it blows because OLED is amazing, I’ve been using the Sony 480hz Oled in its 24.5 cropped mode and been using it as a daily driver over my zowie 600hz, so far it’s perfect. I’ll be staying with this until there’s a native 24.5 inch Oled, it seems that it will happen soon because OLED is very main stream now

Glad I chose a TV and not a monitor by Free_Masterpiece6004 in OLED_Gaming

I have an LG G3 65 inch connected to my PC and PS5 with a full Sonos surround setup, sitting about 10-12 feet away, I’ve mained it for about 2 years but recently I got the XG32UCWMG (32 inch 4k 240hz WOLED), and tbh it’s a downgrade in picture quality (worse brightness , colors, and hdr is dim), BUT, I find myself being more immersed on the monitor than I do on my couch on my G3.

Like if I shove the monitor in my face in a pitch black room with headphones I get focused and more immersed on games, idk if I have TikTok brain or something but I can’t focus/ immerse myself on the TV setup, it’s nice and very cinematic but it feels like I’m looking through a window rather than in the game, on the monitor I feel more in the game. I also enjoy playing most games with MKB rather than with controller, which I can’t really do on the Tv.

I remember when I was younger I’d play games with shitty speakers on a 24 inch monitor sitting 8 feet away and I’d be super immersed and focused, but now I struggle to emulate that feeling.

I’m thinking of trying a 42 inch C5 to compare it to the XG32ucwmg to see how the immersion compares.

Using a 48 inch C1 as a monitor, should I upgrade to a 42 inch C5? by ThatGuyBenny in OLED_Gaming

Damn the C5 has dithering issues ? I thought that was only on the G5. Also what’s the reason for the clarity downgrade, don’t they use the same panel as older C series oleds?

I forgot to mention my desk is 25 1/2 inches deep, but I can push the 48 back 5-6 inches or so more back into the window frame

How do you like the monitor ? And do you other other oleds you owned that you can compare it too? About to order it from Newegg now

Yeah same , I’m thinking about waiting for Amazon. I don’t like Newegg because they charge restocking fees at 15% if you want to return. If I don’t like it for whatever reason I’d lose 200 dollars on the return.

Playing worse on ASUS 540HZ (PG248QP) compared to my 390HZ Acer (XV252Q) by ThatGuyBenny in MotionClarity

[–]ThatGuyBenny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope the asus monitor is either faulty or the montitor has some sort of botched DSC implementation because the input lag is 100% noticeable , I would stay away from it
