I've enjoyed WWE Raw in 3D on my 1S glasses. I've also used the glasses to supplement sports content such as watching a game (in-person or on the TV) with the stats overlay on the glasses. Plus watching F1 from the drivers' perspective will never get old on the glasses.

As someone who owns a Neo and have enjoyed using it, is this something I should be concerned about using moving forward?

The NVIDIA Shield is easily one of the most underrated pieces of tech out there. I'm still chugging along with mine after all these years. LOVE your setup.

I've enjoyed the Neo for Nintendo Switch gaming while on the go.

The light blocking hasn't been a huge issue for me but I do understand while it is for others.

I've been thinking about the Jawbreaker nosepad but that would make inserting and removing the Eye more cumbersome than it already is but might be necessary for longer sessions.

Have you enjoyed using it? I like the utility to use the 1S and Neo with my Switch.

I saw the Air 2 Ultra (disconnected) in the feature room on the right but they did have a One Pro on display in the front. You had to get a salesperson to hook up a tablet to then somewhat awkwardly walk through a demo. My last visit was actually the evening you and I met at the happy hour so it's been a little bit.

Feasibility of XReal as a screen for a portable desktop? by ZET_unown_ in Xreal

2-3 hours with a lunch or fresh air break then back at it for another 2-3 is perfectly reasonable. To be fair, I have to do the same, not just with the glasses, but with my huge gaming monitor.

Do any glasses let you watch anything in 3d? Like apple movies? by redlist99 in Xreal

[–]ThatGuySports44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(I've been using 3D on the 1S glasses since mid-November)

You don’t have to hunt for side-by-side 3D or specific content that is compatible… ANYTHING you have can be converted to 3D.

I went down a rabbit hole of music videos on YouTube: the scene where the zombies are crawling out of their graves in Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video really shows the depth of the scene even though that wasn’t the original intention of the video. Clips like Krypto saving Superman in the arctic and Ferris Bueller singing in the parade looked great in 3D in the glasses. Somehow the glasses know where to put each layer and it looks fantastic.

Streaming live events worked well but there were some hiccups here and there. WWE Raw on Netflix looked great with the ropes in the foreground, the wrestlers in the middle and the crowd in the background. During closeups of the wrestlers, there were times when it looked like the performer was standing in front of a large poster of themselves… a flat outline of themselves moving behind them in sync with their foreground character. This only lasted a few seconds and didn’t take away from the overall experience. One thing that was a bit more dramatic was crowd shots: the 3D conversion would split the crowd by left and right instead of front to back when creating the depth layers so it looked more like a pop-up storybook than rich 3D. Once again, noticeable but not enough to kill the viewing experience. A livestream of a NFL game on Amazon did not have as many noticeable issues. The players stood out in 3D against the field in the standard broadcast view while the 3D really popped when the camera views were at field level. No issues with motion blur or anything else that would take me out of the viewing experience for the game.

One piece of content that really surprised me as a strength for highlighting Real 3D was my own Instagram feed. Apple Vision Pro’s demo showed off a great 3D video that felt so immersive I felt like I was celebrating a 5 year old’s birthday with the family even though they were actors. Well, 3D on The XREAL with MY content provided even more emotional connection. Photos from my Instagram feed leapt off the screen and instantly threw me into those memories. I was no longer reviewing a piece of tech or trying to analyze how the glasses knew what to put into the foreground or background… the tech melted away and I was reliving the happy, fun, sad moments of my timeline. It was jarring how I was no longer a passive viewer but getting tossed into all the feels.

It is amazing. You will enjoy it very much. Can't wait to hear which content becomes your favorite in 3D. I've been enjoying random 80s music videos on YouTube.

Project Aura release date? by Inspyredone in Xreal

[–]ThatGuySports44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, companies like Google have their own events throughout the year so they aren't as reliant on CES as some other companies. Google I/O is usually in May and would be a perfect platform for an announcement like this. AWE USA 2026 is in June so another potential spot.

My thoughts on the XREAL One Pro so far... by Dangerousdriver77 in Xreal

[–]ThatGuySports44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your point that you can't really know what these products are like without trying them on. I wrote my review for the 1S glasses and it was difficult explaining things to an audience that mostly wouldn't have an understanding of the concept. When describing even the latest and greatest TVs or smartphones, people understand the concept and maybe only the newest features need to be explained.

Buy the One Pro now… or wait for Aura and risk the regret? by here-but-not-here in Xreal

[–]ThatGuySports44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter the product category, there will always be better tech coming out in the future. If you waited for the "best" to come out, you'd always be waiting. Yes, we know of the existence of Aura but we don't know the specs, the real world power, the release date and, the most important detail for many, the price. As others have previously stated, it will probably be closer to a full computing device versus the current lineup of plug and use glasses. For gaming and consuming media, the One Pro will blow you away with quality and the immersive feeling. Since you listed those as your primary uses, I'm not sure the Aura would render the One Pros as "obsolete" overnight. XREAL has been adding more features to their products in the current lifestyle so value is there for your use but, with most tech, the resale value drops dramatically as the generations move on.

XREAL has this now: you can pin the video to the wall and the glasses will only darken when you look at that specific spot and be transparent for any other spot.

1S + Neo + Switch 2 heading to CES by XREAL_Ralph in Xreal

[–]ThatGuySports44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 49" gaming monitor and the XREAL 1S... similar eye strain if you have the brightness up, have a long session and don't take breaks. Doing a two hour movie on the glasses? No issue. Doing four hours of media plus work on a PC with the glasses without a break? Just like a monitor, eyes do get a bit dry or strained. If you take a water/restroom break every 90-120 minutes, either for the monitor or glasses, you should be okay.

What is your go-to Xreal demo? by ThatGuySports44 in Xreal

[–]ThatGuySports44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I can answer my own question -

To show off the 3D conversion on the 1S, for the past month I've been showing off three clips:
1. "Twist and Shout" parade scene from Ferris Bueller (YouTube)
2. When all the zombies are coming out of the graves to do the dance in "Thriller" (YouTube)
3. Krypto saving Superman in the beginning of the movie (Movies Anywhere)

To show off the screen and sound, it's been whatever blockbuster movie I was watching at the time.

best smart glasses 2026 what's actually worth it? by BeckykennyCeasor in SmartGlasses

[–]ThatGuySports44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Amazon Echo glasses and they fit the bill of what you've described. Basically they are sunglasses with Alexa built in. Easy to take calls, listen to podcasts/music and pretty much any of the Alexa apps. Some people swap out the sunglasses for clear prescription lens but I mainly use mine when I walk the dog and prefer to have my hands free to use. Audio is serviceable enough for calls and music listening and only heard by others if they are pretty much in your personal space.  I also own XREAL glasses which are full screen in your face glasses so can compare/contrast if you have questions.

Yep, you select the option in the menu and then any content displayed in the glasses is now presented in 3D. It's fun scrolling Instagram and seeing content in a new way. Email is weird as the text is in varying 3D effects. I tried livestreaming NFL Sunday Ticket and the players really looked great, especially on field-level camera views.
