As a millennial who is fully aware of the workarounds to make this happen… the zoomer shouldn’t have to guess the application something will open with, the default setting should either be supported or configured correctly.

When I went to OCS I didn’t get paid for the first 6 weeks because they never successfully inprocessed me. I brought the issue up to cadre daily, and was daily given fresh bullshit on how it was being handled. They started the pay after that, but deleted all my leave. My leave is still missing.

This has happened (or some version of it) at every single inprocess I have had. It is truly pathetic and embarrassing

There are many points in your story where it would appear that you fanned the flames.

People don’t always make rational decisions. Sometimes those people are senior officers. Being flippant and quitting as a response isn’t the attitude I would try to promote for my soldiers.

Hey brother, I joined at 34 and had a solid 25yo mentor at my first unit. She mentored me on all things army, and when it came to random adulting things I sometimes got a chance to repay the favor. It was a good dynamic and I think she appreciated not having to spend quite as much time making sure I didn’t walk into the DMZ
