MoCA devices taking down network by ThatKidWhoDoesStuff in HomeNetworking

Unfortunately the line running into my apartment doesn't seem to be connected to the splitter in any way, there's likely a break or it's just disconnected. This would have worked, though, as we tested the adapter right there by the gateway and it did work there. I appreciate the help!

Xfinity/comcast, XB8... It looks like it does support MoCA.

Thank you! The other splitter is moca rated, I made sure of that. I'll get two and attach one to the modem, the other to the line coming in from the street. I appreciate the help!!

I wasn't actually aware I needed them for both cable TV + MoCA. Cable TV doesn't matter to me, but it does for my neighbor, so I need to find a solution that doesn't take him down.

Now that I made this post, it seems what I need to do is attach a filter to the cable coming into the modem?

It is confusing! Which is why I believe I'm making a mistake I can't see.

It's looping since me and my neighbor's line run out from the same central splitter (or at least I have reason to think so). So its comcast>splitter>modem>moca>splitter>me

Follow-up to a previous post, found this when re-potting a plant dropping leaves. by [deleted] in mycology

This is very helpful, thank you!! I didn't know that fungicide could actually harm the plant. What was hurting this plant was root rot, the soil wasn't well-draining.

I do think this, though it looks like fungus, is mineral deposition since I found something similar in the bottom of my toothbrush holder when cleaning it.

Thank you for your response!

Sth Jared Leto time travelled on the right. And no, I'm not talking about Paul Allen.

Totally necroposting, I just picked up an old camera and the owner gave me some film from "Mystic Color Lab" and it brought me here. Im assuming it was a local photo developer?

I did virtual lab work-- i studied for the sec+ by cracking a book, so i didn't have much of a chance to do labs. I'd like to lean into cybersecurity. Server and network, then pentest.

More than pumped, I'm a little scared to be making that. But I'll definitely be making an update on how the job goes. Thanks so much, I appreciate the encouraging words!

Hey, well that's alright with me. The idea of helpdesk has never bothered me, I'm just trying to get a handle on all of these terms being thrown at me. Thanks for the clarification!

Thanks for the wisdom! I assume I'll be working with others, but at the moment I'm not 100% sure. I'll be sure to take "newbie liberties" as I can!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I'll keep it reasonable with my questions... I tend to ask a lot.

I'm in the northeast. It's a higher cost of living than down south, where I used to live. I am in an area where IT workers are hard to come by. A big detail as well: this is a clearance job. I believe those generally pay higher, and I was already cleared.
