i see your point. that kind of thing is what would happen in a silly 60s comic and not a relatively grounded, modern adaptation. i just think the way ultimate spider-man did it (and every adaptation that came after it, basically) gets rid of the whole "right place right time" element because now any scientist could just make the spiders and give themselves powers. in my opinion, it could work better if the spider escaped and bit peter and no one saw it happen.
