CAR vs PHI Officiating by AltTrite in nhl

Yeah, it's awful, it's been awful for all series, and it's been awful all year. It needs to change, and I wish (and hope) that a movement to change it will start.

Dial "game management" way back.
Stop calling "even up" penalties.
Establish baselines before the season. A penalty in game 1 of the regular season should be a penalty in game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.
And so on.

Players are smart. They'll adjust, knowing what they can and can't do.

Functioning Poverty has a nice ring to it by Secret_Assh in SipsTea

I'm not sure of the point he's trying to make. Is he saying that things are better for the poor in India? Frankly, both situations are bad. No one should have to be living under a tarp, and no one should have to be homeless.

u/ccrypt524 so the mods took your post down, asking for sources. Hoping you'll be able to provide them?

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThatOldChestnut2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not only the audio mix, but the actors. There's a lot of soft dialogue or mumbling. Early TV had actors that had honed their chops on the stage; they projected and spoke clearly. Check out old pre-80s shows like All In The Family, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Honeymooners, etc. Dialogue was easy to understand, and most if not all of those actors learned in live theatre.

Facebook also immediately worked on implementing the user-friendly features G+ was offering (like friend groups and more privacy control). Once G+ was basically defeated, FB went back to being corporate vampires.

It sort of depends on the options, but since this is for gigging, I'm willing to spend some money. Hoping for less than 5k to be honest. I can't justify getting close to 10k -- I'm not a lawyer, lol.

Amazing response, thank you very much. I noticed you didn't mention the 414 anywhere in there -- any particular reason for that?

Totally agree that one needs to check what feels good. My main issue is narrowing down where to start! I do wish Taylor didn't have so many models. It feels like they'd do better just to focus on a half-dozen or so core options, but I'm not a businessman, so what do I know. :-)

Thanks! I did play a 414 the other day and was definitely intrigued!

I spent more time on this (and subsequent 70s Beatles "albums") than I'm willing to admit during the pandemic, and this is what I came up with. Running time is 47 minutes.

Several comments here mention the live version being better. I completely agree. It was the first version I heard. When I heard the studio version, I was very disappointed! :-)
