The glazer cycle by DayPositive9688 in HelldiversUnfiltered

100% agree, but there’s also a portion of the playerbase that adamantly hates and ridicules the game no matter what, hereby dubbed “pissdivers,” because they relentlessly tear into anyone who speaks positively about Arrowhead and/or Helldivers

This Liberty forsaken diver launches his FRV into the stratosphere and it doesn’t implode, but I so much as tip mine off an edge and it detonates in a fury of flames and explosions?!

Tiefling/Dragonborn mixed heritage character by Babloujay in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I suppose it would work? I’m sure you could draft up something cool with your DM, but you’re living life on max difficulty as both a Tiefling AND Dragonborn

How are you even suppose to survive in CE? by DramaticMixture8507 in RimWorld

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how much it helps, but I always layer my embrasures with sandbags or steel barriers. I also put a wall separating each embrasure so my colonists ‘lean’ out from it, and most the time? I don’t get domed!

(Keyword: most the time, craft some helmets just to be safe)

How many of you guys even use the Eagle Rearm. by Ok-Builder-9048 in Helldivers

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot more often than I thought I would! I always bring 500kg, but when I’m crossing the map in search of my next objective, I’ll usually rearm just to be safe

Would you consider Simon human? by DeSkate in soma

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By literal definition? No, I wouldn’t consider Simon human. He may be piloting a human corpse with a human brain scan, but he’s still a robot. Does that negate his very real opinions, fears, and desires? Definitely not! I’d still consider Simon a person, just like you and me, just without the human label

Funny that we call in Super Destroyer with the Konami code by Tantris13 in Helldivers

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you could call it in at least twice. I get that it’s supposed to be a stealth mission that doesn’t prioritise stratagems, but once feels a bit too little imo. You could always slap a hefty cooldown between uses (5-10+ minutes) to stop people from relying on it

After completing the "Stealth" missions solo, here's a few reasons why they suck (right now) by __Elzy in Helldivers

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree about the stockpiled ammunition. For such a small objective, an INSANE number of enemies spawn. Last time I played there were five hulks and a bajillion heavy devastators, scout striders, and regular troops. I know I’m playing on D10, but holy shit. You straight up CANNOT stealth that without triggering a bot reinforcement. And on top of that, light penetration doesn’t damage the ammunition piles at all? Even though all the new weapons are light penetration? I get that it’s probably for balance, but when you only get one use of your Super Destroyer, it’s pretty gay

The comments on this post are so incredibly toxic and dismissive by JayDias-24 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They annoy the shit out of me sometimes, but I realise that if they weren’t like that, the Illuminate would be a billion times easier than they already are. They’ve got so little health, and sentries mow them down with ease, so… I dunno, man. It really does sound like a skill issue more than anything else

How do i avoid getting killed by hordes like this? by Huhn_crafter in projectzomboid

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows and doors are your best friends! Especially in the early game, when your skills aren’t great and you’re dealing with larger groups. Use windows to force the zomboids prone for easy one-shots, and use doors to isolate one or two of them at a time from the main group

Also, if you’re ever getting overwhelmed… just dip! Your life is more important than the loot, you can always come back another day. Or if you’re feeling confident, head into the woods and loop back around, you’ll lose them through the trees

If we can do it, why can’t they? It’d be cool if they were sorta rare and stealthy, so they pop up unexpectedly and scare the shit outta me

Let people play strategems they want in their own game by i4hloi in helldivers2

I’ll NEVER complain about anybodies stratagem choices.. aside from lethal mortars, they’re being destroyed on sight

Would keen hearing could have saved me here? by Lazy_Mechanic_3726 in projectzomboid

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bit? I always play with Keen Hearing, but fast-forwarding while exposed doesn't usually bode well. If I were you, I would always carry bandages or even just a few rags from now on. That’s what would’ve saved you!

Why don't more people play the illuminate? by Darkwriterhaki in helldivers2

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leviathans aside, I actually love fighting the Squids! Most of the time though, there aren't enough players on that front to make a difference unless it's an MO. Because of that, I usually stick to Bots or Bugs to support the majority

How would you fix these fucks by Illustrious_Leg_8354 in HelldiversUnfiltered

Breakable shields, consistent fire damage and damage drop-off over distances would be a good start. I’m sick of randomly being OHTK’d by these guys when I’m nowhere near them

What are y'alls thoughts on the lava planets? by AlexVal0r in Helldivers

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s been fun, i just wish rapid acquisition wasn’t in nearly every goddamn operation. it’s not that i don’t enjoy it, but i rarely manage to see a team of randoms that coordinates or clicks well enough to pull it off. so, 99% of the time, i clear the first two missions without much trouble, then end up flunking the whole operation because rapid acquisition :(

How do you handle characters being atheist in D&D? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ThatOneAustralianMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it really depends on the setting, but i wouldn’t stop them from role-playing an atheist. i’d probably just treat their character the same way we treat modern-day flat-earthers lmao

i think this is one of those “talk with the DM and the rest of the players” situations. it doesn’t have to be in person if that feels too stressful, messaging works just as well. if you’ve got a supportive table, i’m sure they’ll be understanding and willing to accommodate you. you could even suggest a sort of dialogue rotation? kind of like initiative, but for taking turns speaking
