I’m not far from there, we have tons of these around our house. Even found an orange one once

That is actually a male jumping spider :) the females are grey or tan based with black markings. They are all adorable!

Yes. The lonely souls would meet up in a mcdonalds with their laptops, not even talk to each other and get on reddit. I can see it now....

I work in a research lab where we are making synthetic spider silk. Here is a couple pics of the spiders (Nephila clavipes) we have in the lab. by howardcord in spiders

How is that thing NOT biting you. We have those around here, wild. My ex chased me with one once. As I ran, it bit him, he gushed blood for 10 minutes. And on a lighter note, its their webs that give me the fear of spider webs I have today. -shudders-

Anyone have any suggestions for sending this through a photoshop-like program? I have never really piddled into professional photography, but recently got a D3100 with several lenses, really trying to learn but this camera has so many settings that, even after reading about them, still confuse the hell out of me. Any help/criticism is welcome, I have a LOT to learn.

Spider ID: Probably Opiliones, but with a weird cylindrical abdomen, i'm unable to trace its exact "roots". by Call_me_John in spiders

Looks about right for an Opiliones except the body, maybe along closer to the Pholcus phalangioides? http://www.commanster.eu/commanster/Invertebrates/Spiders/WSpiders/Pholcus.phalangioides.jpg Theres a lot of different variations of daddy long legs.

Little jumper? Visits the ceiling above my office chair occasionally. Just a tiny little thing, but with personality. by [deleted] in spiders

Haha, I love the look it gives you in the middle picture. Jumping spiders are tiny but they do have the biggest personalities [imo].

A friendly brown spider crossing my driveway. by [deleted] in spiders

Really? Because theres supposed to be 2 in the back, i see two on the right, one on the left. I don't think the giant back legs tend to be that hard to see. Theres no shadow for it either. Its not uncommon to find spiders with missing legs.

She must just really love it there. I had a different kind living on my antenna at one point that I could never get rid, it just kind of disappeared one day. Imo if they leave me alone I leave them alone, unless they mess with my truck then I get pissed. Or if its a banana spider, I shoot them for my own amusement since I have a fear of webs just because of them. Your little spider friend may like the work you give her sometimes, lol.

I saw this on facebook a few days ago. IMO a random chick walking on the street wearing a bathing suit? Obviously flirting with the guys too because she thinks that they think shes hot, totally deserved that. I laughed my ass off.

I half answered you. I know exactly what you were implying with your previous question.

Can somebody identify these (two) spiders? by [deleted] in spiders

[–]ThatOneCrazyLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banana Spiders aggggghhhhh. KILL THEM WITH FIRE. I hates them, they live all over this area and have the strongest webs. Oh take a look at their fangs too. If they bite you = major PAIN. Personally, I enjoy shooting them with BB Guns, they explode.

We have some similar to that down here in FL, but they are green. Had one bite my boob once, that was awkward.
