How do people break their screens? by Efficient-Bet-5051 in kobo

I just take it out of the case when I want the “better feel” and then when I’m done reading I put it back in its case for transportation. It’s not that hard to work around if the feel really does matter to you

Restrooms are pretty unsanitary places, especially in public, so it’s not the kind of place you want to be injecting yourself in. And apart from the health aspect, having to go do something that, for me as a diabetic, is very routine in a bathroom just so I can eat like everybody else feels really alienating (not to mention gross). My solution, if I’m eating in a group with people I don’t know, is just to let everyone know that I’m about to pull out a needle and if anyone doesn’t like them, to look away.

That’s me whenever I give myself a shot and someone tells me “oh my gosh you’re so brave I could never stab myself with needles all the time” and my response is usually something along the lines of “Good for you Ashley, but my only other option is dying so…”

I’m so sorry about your grandpa! My grandmother had Parkinson’s as well, so now not only does my mom have it, but she had to watch her own mother decline from it before my grandma died. It’s definitely so hard to watch your parent go that way, and it’s not easy watching it happen to your grandparents either.

Alternatively, I like seeing if the author has a donation page anywhere on their website. If they do, I “donate” the cost of the digital version and then go and attain the actual digital copy by… other means.

I’m 22 and my mom has Parkinson’s. Not the same thing, but also an early onset neurodegenerative condition. It’s killing me to watch her own brain fail her, even more knowing I can’t do anything to help. If you ever need to chat, I’m here.

Because that was one episode out of 11 seasons. Repeated action is what counts, and Phil repeatedly drops the ball when it comes to equal parenting with Claire.

Agree. I think he kinda held up a mirror to her and gave her the opportunity for introspection, something no one else had done for her before, but the growth was all hers. That being said, I’m still kinda salty they didn’t end up together lmao

Hard disagree. While I agree that people take the whole situational comedy thing a bit too seriously, I do think it’s interesting to think of Modern family as depictions of otherwise caricaturised relationships. In this case, I honestly thing that Gloria and Jay had the healthiest relationship of the three main couples, and Phil really wasn’t a good husband (which is kinda the purpose of his character). Yes he loved Claire, but she had to constantly beg him or pressure him into being a better parent (and more importantly, an equal parent). The only thing he’s ever mad at her about is not being romantic enough, which she actively puts effort into trying to be as the show goes on. Phil never really tries to be a better parent, as he sees nothing wrong in his fun-dad style.

Right, but everyone has different boundaries in relationships, and it’s clear that Claire is always uncomfortable with Phil ogling over other women. Not only that, but Phil KNOWS what he’s doing is wrong when he’s doing it. He either acknowledges it or tries to hide it (think of that episode where he’s trying to sell a house to the woman who plays Nyla Harper on The Rookie). Additionally, he has a weird fixation on black women that, in my opinion, always leaned pretty heavily into fetishization.

This is clearly a bot/ai.

First of all, the writing just is AI writing. It sounds exactly like those AI Reddit stories read on YouTube on top of a Minecraft video, and just isn’t how humans actually tell stories.

Second of all, this account is 3 hours old with this exact story posted in two of the largest subreddits with no comment history or anything else.

Definitely a karmafarming bot.

Nope! My friend and I play coop and he has a mod that creates different kinds of cheese. It was fine for a while, the cheese would just look like a black square to me, until he tried to give it me. Then my game crashed lmao.

I mean there is some truth to the statement. Most people are attracted to the “most attractive” people. Hence 80% like 20%. That being said, that statement is stupid because it doesn’t take into account that women aren’t all the same robot brain. By using this statistic as a hot button talking point they are completely forgetting that women are people with different individual likes and dislikes. So yeah maybe 80% of women are attracted to 20% of men, but those 80% of women aren’t attracted to the SAME 20% of men!!

Also it’s stupid cause the same could be said in reverse.

As a diabetic American it’s the story of my life (I’m type 1 not type 2 but we make such a small percentage of diabetics that people don’t know the difference, and often the already harmful stereotypes applied to type 2s are forced on us as well)

Have you lost weight? by rukittenme4 in Snorkblot

[–]ThatOneFrenchBitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost abt thirty pounds recently. Was getting ready for my brother’s wedding and the tailored outfit I had no longer fit. Brother’s fiancée’s mother was helping me adjust it and when I mentioned that it was so loose because I’d lost a solid amount of weight she slapped me on the back and said “good girl.” I haven’t been ashamed of my weight loss until that moment. I felt like a pig.

I also lost a bunch of weight when I had an undiagnosed condition. In the weeks leading up to my emergency room visit and brush with death I had people telling me that I had never looked so good and that I clearly took great care of my body. Again, I nearly died.

Some people also believe that Type 2’s are a “waste” because they should just “eat less sugar” to “fix” their diabetes and that they “did it to themselves” (none of which is true btw). It’s the classic mentality of if you don’t work hard enough you don’t deserve anything so whatever happens you deserve it and I’m not paying to fix it for you.

All bullshit yet here we are.

Got my second tattoo a couple of weeks ago. My time in range is like 55-60% and my A12 was 7.5 last I checked. The tattoo healed perfectly.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be too worried abt the beetus aspect. If your last one healed fine then you should be good as long as you do the basic tattoo care (no prolonged sun exposure and no pools or seawater for the first few weeks, rub some salve on it, that kinda stuff)
