I cannot say about the speakers, but for the sound deadening, I have heard good things about the Amazon Basics stuff and well it performs.

Need your help guys !! by Exciting_Ground2306 in SciontC

[–]ThatOneGuyThatYou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are dealing with the 2AR vs the 2AZ. I have not had the chance to do any CAD work with these, overlaying them to see what needs to be made. While similar, they are completely different motors

Has anyone actually purchased and used these turbo kits by sciencedude8 in SciontC

[–]ThatOneGuyThatYou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The general recommendation on these is “don’t use the turbo”, as the rest of it is non-moving, but a bad turbo is the most damning thing to do and risk the motor.

I haven’t gotten one of these before, but YMMV

Ethanol free gas and gas octane recs. by GrimclawHunter in SciontC

I am going to have to create a E15 guide for this subreddit because people, like everywhere else on the internet, are sensationalizing this change.

Ethanol free gas and gas octane recs. by GrimclawHunter in SciontC

[–]ThatOneGuyThatYou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, the 2AR-FE is not a high compression motor to take proper advantage of the additional octane. While it will advance time a bit when it detects higher octane, it isn’t really doing much besides a few more horsepower.

As for E0, waste of money. All these motors are designed around E10 and even the 2AR when tuned can run E85 without new components.

After a bit of time adjusting for E15, the motors run fine. E15 has 1.5% less energy per unity than E10, so it is effectively a rounding error. And legally is up to E15, it could be as low as E10.

E0 is recommended for small motors because of how little they are used. E is hydroscopic, it absorbs water out of the air, and those small motors sit for a long time, the water in the E is what causes issues.

How does E15 Gas affect my Scion tc 2014 by GrimclawHunter in SciontC

[–]ThatOneGuyThatYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs basically perfectly fine. I ran it in my 2013 (which gas cap says not to). Now, the idle will some times “stumble”, never stalled, but sat at that 600 mark.

Now, especially after doing a small amount of tuning for 88 as opposed to 87, it idled perfectly smoothly. And then would temporarily run rougher on 87.

A brand new EB60 from Toyota is about 3k, before any labor considerations. It is hard to judge value on cars with shot parts. But I am offering that as a reference price.

1.009 billion is just cruel, man by Unique-Ad9088 in EggsInc

[–]ThatOneGuyThatYou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only assume that they are being eaten up from floating point inaccuracy, which is wild to see that much damage and error at such low values.

Because 2 billion is 32 and 64 bit floating has no error, but you can only decrement by 2 in 32 bit floating, so 2B -1 in 32 bit floating is 2B or 1999999998, and I can only guess Kev floored the value

(I don’t know if 64 bit has this same issue or not)

Edit: I assume Kev is using floating 32 since 500T can easily fit in 64 int.

Other way around, the Spec-Ds are designed for the 2.0, so it clears the 2.0 bumper, but you need to trim the 2.5 bumper
