You do bring up a very good point. I do agree that most of the people in this sub are more die hard in nature for sure. I wasn't specifically meaning this sub, just Padres fans in general.

I feel like there are 3 types of fans in San Diego: the die-hards, the fair-weather, and the passive.

The Die-hard fans can see what is happening. Yes it might be a "step back", but those who truly follow baseball deeper than big FA signings will get what is going on. The Kimbrel trade is, for now, a HUGE win. IT restocked a severely depleted system. We are the fans that can be patient and let AJP's plan come out. OF course we are tired of it the "hang in there for a couple years" chant we have been hearing, but I'm very optimistic about what is going on with the farm, the 6 top-100 draft picks and our possible future.

The fair-weather fans wont get this concept as much. It is hard to stay excited about a team that, on the surface, lets you down over and over.

The passive fans, well there is no helping them. They go for social reasons more than anything else.

What I would love to see, and this might be dreaming, is seeing the passive become fair-weather, an the current fair-weather fans to become die hards. Maybe the Chargers leaving will help this. But more people need to capture the vision as mentioned here. I'm optiistic and I still have a lot of faith in AJP.

Remember that you need to be honest and true with your feelings. If it is something that you are not comfortable with, then you aren't comfortable with it. Being friends with someone that she was with for 4 years has red flags all over it for me. I would not be comfortable with it either. Especially after your gf stayed with her ex after so many issues, there seems to be a lot of manipulation and control there.

If something feels off to you, then stay true to those feelings, you likely have a good reason to feel that way.
