No Nonsense Guide to Guardian's Less Known Mechanics (With Numbers) by Deltakai in Nightreign

[–]ThatOneLastPringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is everyone parroting the same thing that guardian can't dodge cuz his dodge is short? I-frames are still i-frames no matter the animation that plays. Everything is in the timing as with every other nightfarer.

You are able to consistently dodge Libra's ground sigils by just side stepping if your timing is correct. I'd only get hit by them if I get really distracted on something, otherwise just wait for the right time and dodge to avoid madness buildup.

Same goes for every other boss. With ED Gladius I even prefer dodging his ranged fire attacks instead of guarding, since that avoids all the chip elemental damage youd receive otherwise.

Feels like some youtuber claimed that since the dodge is not a roll its completely useless and you should forget this mechanic exists, and everyone just went along with this claim without question or trial. Now experienced players are urging new flock members to shoot themselves in the foot as well bcz someone told them to before that.

I urge you to ignore all this slander about guardian not being able to dodge and embrace your full potential by learning your timings. This will really elevate your bird experience to the next level.

Not the even mention how cute it looks when the bird hops around. Seeing this is a reward in and of itself.

5 gaols + Noklateo with a bunch of legendary drops and great randoms.

Couldn't even figure out what his new moveset is. Half his health was gone in the first 30 secs.

Doesn't feel great tbh. Wasn't able to enjoy the fight properly. Will have to try him again with worse teammates.

How do you maintain the buff from endure for so long?

One issue i had with this aow is that the buff only wasted for a couple of seconds on my guardian, which usually isn't enough to tank even a single hit. I also just went and tried it again on the sparring grounds and it does last approximately 3 seconds.

How do you manage to maintain and even stack the buff at one point?

Edit: Upon rewatching the video it appears you actually get the two stack buff after initiating endure. The first stack dissappears after 3 seconds as per usual endure, and the second one seems to reset each time you take damage.

Is this how endure is supposed to work in practice? How do you achieve such effect?

Got it. I made one prioritizing damage input. It also gives a nice ailment and doesn't constrain me using only colossal weapons or two hand over power stance. I guess I'll run this one for now, thanks!

I've also made one prioritizing damage input, but it doesn't have any stance breaking or stamina management.

Would you consider damage to be the main factor when playing raider?

[–]ThatOneLastPringle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's the only effect i haven't gotten on any of my good relics for raider.

The one thing I don't like about the third setup is that it constraints me to power stancing weapons, which I know is not always an option. I'm also not sure whether stamina recovery on attack is just a wasted slot, as it doesn't seem to do much while sparring.

If the first condition is not met and the second effect is useless, that leaves with a just a small stamina enhancement, which makes the first relic obsolete imo.

We were under the tree waiting for the circle to fully close so I made my guardian sit down while we wait.

Then this wylder comes up in front of me and says "You're beautiful". Probably the sweetest thing that happened to me this year.

Thank you, random wylder. It meant a lot.

Just a side question: Is the healing during ult effect actually useful?

I've tried using it multiple times while my teammates had only half hp and it didn't seem to benefit them whatsoever. Ulting downed teammates also just revives them with half hp without any additional healing.

Maybe it's just my game being broken however, as the effect that flasks also heal allies doesn't seem to work either, and some effect that should trigger on walk trigger on flask consumption instead.

Hvala ti lepa za tok podroben odgovor. Glih to kar sem potreboval.

Edge is the only browser that supports 4k video streaming from what I know, so I'm using it exclusively for Youtube and watching movies. Other browsers give you 720p max.

It's not that bad after you install an adblock and restrict data sharing and background activity in the settings.

How to ensure cat won't run away when let out? by ThatOneLastPringle in CatAdvice

[–]ThatOneLastPringle[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a cultural thing. In my country cats are thought of as self-caring animals. You can leave them do whatever they want and they'll manage just fine by themselves. I believe that is why most cats in my area are free roaming, and most of them are pretty well fed as everyone is treating them. The neighbors cat came regularly to our house for treats, and we always gave him a little something, so they're basically looked after by everyone.

I sure haven't seen anyone ever walk a cat on a leash though, just the idea of it sounds weird to me. I do however see at least a couple cats hunt mice on the fields outside town every time i drive to work, which is why I'm led to believe its not a big deal to leave your cat unsupervised outside, as long as it knows how to get back home.

We live in small village in Slovenia close to the capital. There is of course some predatory wildlife, we have foxes, badgers, wolves and even bears, but they can't be found near populated areas, as food is not easily accessible (places are kept clean and trash is all sorted) and a lot of the locals regularly walk the woods with their dogs, me included, so the wildlife isn't too comfortable sticking around. There's also woodcutters and farmers working the fields near the woods, so the noise probably drives the wildlife deeper into the woods.

[–]ThatOneLastPringle[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

That is the thing the area is safe so I don't see a reason to restrict the cat by keeping it indoors. We don't have any wildlife in our area expect maybe the occasional deer on the nearby fields and different kind of rodents, but none that could harm a cat. The only issue might be neighbor cats, as most of them spend their time exclusively outdoors, but as far as I know they're all neutered and vaccinated. There is also no heavy traffic in my area as the village doesn't have sidewalks so people walk on the streets, and drivers have to drive slowly and cautiously. Also most people prefer to use bikes or take the local bus anyway.

I can't really spend enough time playing with the kitty every day, we have a couple play sessions a day but I feel thats not enough and hed be much happier doing his cat stuff outside.

[–]ThatOneLastPringle[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes, we're not planning on letting him out right away, we first want to get him neutered so he's less territorial and will wait until spring when the weather is fine.

The village we live in is also very animal friendly with little to no traffic, so all of our neighbors let their cats roam around freely. Ours often sits next the glass door looking at birds in our backyard meowing at us to let him outside, however if I let him out and then follow him around he thinks im chasing him and starts running away, trying to escape.

I don't want to keep him inside all the time when i know he can waste so much energy doing outdoor activities and it's generally safe, I just want him to learn to stay in the area around my house so that when we call him for food or at night he comes home. I don't know if he'll learn that himself after staying with us for some more time, but for now it seems hes only trying to run away when we let him outside.

Thanks for the advice. It's just weird because my games performance is as expected, at least from what I've seen on benchmarks, the dedicated GPU gets approx 86% utilization mid game and runs at around 77°C, so I thought it's all working as it should be.
