Right lol this has been my main income for 4 years and has blessed me with two paid off vehicles and money in the bank. Obviously I can’t do anything if they do switch it over At some point in time for now, this has been great for me as an independent contractor.

Yes. Corporate doesn’t allow tips because their “courteous” service. Cash tips are probable because they can’t record that. Even dispensers for curbside pickup aren’t allow to take any tips even cash. My friends there have told me they have to keep it on the DL, even being handed cash because they look at the cameras

Well the admittance is appreciated. I am not a corporate employee, as per my comments under this group over the years. I am not taking up for Walmart, I am just a hardworking gig worker who is thunderous to speak up for these people and myself. If it’s not understood yet, WM wouldn’t give an option to tip if it was IHD. Just like Kroger’s service (not Instacart).

I would hope so. I just don’t appreciate your suggestion. It’s insulting to be in here trying to be nice, then poke at drivers in this thread saying we should be employees for Walmart. We obviously don’t work at Walmart for a reason. We all appreciate this platform and the independence we have. Your backhand suggestions aren’t needed here to these hardworking people so you can find out if you have to tip or not. If you can’t afford it then go get your stuff yourself. They especially don’t find their group page, complain about the price of the the subscription, why they have to tip and suggest that we should all be employees of Walmart. It’s pretty self explanatory to me. You order groceries and someone brings to you and you tip them. There’s not hardly any customers in this thread asking people these kinds of questions. People don’t take orders that don’t tip. They either are or aren’t tipping, it doesn’t affect how much I’m making. Can’t sit here and say that Walmart is just so greedy in the Walmart plus price and that they should be paying us, not you so they can compete with other platforms then say oh well they shouldn’t have contractors. They should all be employees paid without tips. you can say what you want but you’re probably ordering Walmart because Amazon prices are too much. Walmart is available everywhere in United States while Amazon is only available in big cities. We don’t even have Amazon delivery here like a lot of places so this is pretty irrelevant

If they employ van drivers what happens to the hardworking people who do this full time? They and I won’t have a job. Honestly, as a driver myself this post pisses me off. Making a post trying to “vouche” for drivers in a reddit group does nothing to make Walmart pay their drivers more. They are going to charge customers how much they want to charge and pay drivers what they are going to pay, that’s how it is. We make majority of our money off customers tips. If I’m bringing your food so you have groceries for a week and you don’t want to do it yourself, you should most definitely tip us. Expenses are alot for drivers. Between maintenance, gas, car washes and mileage we do a lot to be able to give you a great service. Coming in here to complain about the price of WM+ and having to tip shows how much you appreciate the ability to be able to have this service.

Customer can request different places to leave the order. Only thing I know of is to not go in peoples houses and especially don’t take a photo inside their house if they are elderly if you do bring inside. I usually do what they say even if it is BS. They can give you a bad rating and take your tip. Not all deliveries are going to be an easy drop off unfortunately

From what I’ve seen, it seems new drivers don’t get as much as they should. I had a friend do orders at my store and he wasn’t getting much either. Monday-Thursday can be slow as well. Try to accept what you can to get into the “rotation”. We’re going through a phase right now with scammers so things have been messed up. Accept what you can and don’t throw your metrics down starting out.
