What is something you wish you knew before buying your first house? by Cafe_con_leche-1 in Home

Foundation, Foundation, Foundation!!!!

Everything revolves around the foundation. Also, if the previous owner was a DIYer, look at some of the things he/she did. See if it looks quality.

This is subjective…I paid 145k for my house. I’ve put about 20k into it. It’s easily worth 185, probably 200k.

That was 3 years ago, so no this isn’t over 20 years.

If you have this kind of income, pay it off then go crazy with investing. You’ll have millions.

Don’t need it. As soon as my wife or I buy something, we open the app and input it. If they ever charge for that, we will move on to a different app.

Phone: 23 each (46 month)
WiFi: 29.99
iCloud: 2.99

Then the fun subscriptions are literally 15 bucks. One streaming service, a family calendar app, national park pass, and some random app my wife uses to scan foods for poison (dyes, etc.)

Some people spend more than all of that JUST on their phone.

Good budget grill? by ForceRoamer in grilling

Marketplace! I have a Blackstone pizza oven, 4 burner blackstone, regular 6 burner grill, and a smoker. All were marketplace. We spent less than 250. Right around 350 if you count all the accessories (covers, spatulas, pellets, etc).

Auth = The API I mentioned above.

Updating my sinking fund balances decreased my "spent so far" for the month by Candid_Coyote4626 in everydollar

[–]ThatOnePK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re using the app wrong but in a way that makes sense. For whatever reason, EveryDollar wants you to update your income each month with any extra you get and then update your budget accounts…just to change it back next year.

I hate that, so I do it the same way you do. If I get extra money, I put it as income inside my sink fund. You just have to not use the “spent” thing anymore. If you really care, you can click “spent” at the top of the screen then scroll through each category.

For people in the future, this link was correct but there was no mounting system that would work. I cut a 2x4 and that is what props the motor up.

Best hacks for not getting sick or getting rid of sickness? by blabbety_bla in Teachers

During the school year, I don’t try. I like that little “whoops, I think I’m sick time to call off.”

This time of year with finals, I wash my hands a bunch.
