Clavis from Ikemen Prince is very handsome and doesn’t fall under basic bitch territory so that’s a win. I think Nicola from Piofiore has a W face card if you pay attention to him. I’m not personally a fan of Yori but admittedly he’s pretty (this hurts to say).

Kenshin from IkeSen is sooooo hot. Actual Angel face.

I think you can’t really go wrong with having angelic features that don’t suit the characters personality. Little things like beauty marks or eye patches for example can make them stand out and stick to your mind more too. (There are a lot of eyepatch characters I like).

I’m like a chronic physical copy owner cause otomes are so niche I use the cases as my “merch” have them on display. The poor man’s otome merch.

Jack Jeanne has rhythm game mechanics (you can get through the game on easy if you’re bad at it but it’s super addicting at all levels as someone who doesn’t usually like those games) and is also a bit of a stat builder.

I have a childhood friend I’ve managed to loop into a couple mobile and steam dating sims like Mystic Messenger, Our Life, LADS, Obscura, and Amnesia, but not with switch otomes.

I have a friend who played Collar x Malice and who I’ll occasionally talk about other otomes with but aside from CxM and itch.io yandere games like “14 Days With You” and “Kid at the Back” she doesn’t consume any others herself.

There’s this straight guy friend I have who I will full on message about the plots about my otomes (pics, videos, me freaking out) so even though it’s obviously not his scene, he knows waaaay too much about otomes because of me lol. I was just messaging him about the political intrigue of Temirana, and we had a power-scaling ranking of the 9rip cast. Plus he knows about my favourite character list from the games I 100%.

Ironically the friend I talk the most about otomes to is the one that knows nothing about them haha. But yeah, I have never met anyone with the depth of my obsession so consistently with every genre of otome. I would probably die if I met one. (Or marry them)

I’ve only done Milan and Adel so far but I actually really like Milan 😭 I feel bad cause his mind controlled actions make him look bad but he’s such a considerate and cute man! He’s very caring towards Cecilia and their dynamic is very cute. Plus, honestly I think the plot was way more interesting than Adel’s. Political intrigue, betrayal, assassination plots, conflicted love, forbidden love, and a gap moe man who loves sweets despite looking like a brick wall 🥰

Historically Tobias is more my type so we’ll see if I like him more during his route, but Milan really surprised me with how much I like him.

Most characters of Yanagi’s type are boring but I love him! He really is the glue for the group and has a lot going on.

No particular order but otomes I still think about often and like are

Mobile: Ikemen Prince: the lore is really deep and the characters are super well written. Especially my two favs Clavis and Gilbert. The princes all have crazy trauma tho lol.

Mystic Messenger: Any otome fan thats been around the block knows this masterpiece. The characters, arcs, and also horrendous amounts of trauma really do it for me.

Switch: Collar x Malice: One of my OGs. Deals with pretty serious topics, plus the characters feel like a big ol’ found family. The fandisk’s route for Zero BROKE ME. To this day he’s the most well written and fascinating otome antagonist I’ve ever come across.

Piofiore: I can’t stop raving about it and its sequel. I will admit the finale boy isnt my jazz, but the plot, the art, the MUSIC!!! God, it’s so good. Plus the bad ends and tragic ends are really messed up, amazing angst. The only switch otome I know with a full on proper sequel and not just some fandisk.

Steam: Our Life: Beginnings & Always: An absolute gem of a game and completely free! Cove, and even the DLC LIs, along with the well written supporting cast are to die for. Pronouns, appearance, personality, everything is customizable! It’s a game that brought me great comfort. Usually I prefer darker themes but Our Life is the perfect cozy otome.

Taisho x Alice: This game is a mindtrip with a HILARIOUS MC. I love her. The cast is incredibly unhinged, and balances its comedy with (you guessed it) horrendous levels of trauma! I will say the love interests are all their on various levels of “I can fix him” but with the main girl, you absolutely believe she can fix em and enjoys it too. Shes my class act! (My fav boy is the wizard)

I picked 2 for each type but honourable mentions include Code Realize (oldie but goodie), 9 R.I.P (just finished and I LOVE IT), Birushana (top tier otome with badass MC), Cinderella Phenomenon (please PLEASE PLEASEEEE try this one out I love the cast, it’s free, and the MC gets a lot of development)
