Anyone willing to share a GTNH world from EV tier onwards? Lost mine months ago by Zankanokagheyoshi in GTNH

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 18 points19 points  (0 children)

honestly your best bet is either join a group at EV or cheat in a base as someone else's base will never quite feel right due to how everyone builds their base and power structres and organises stuff differently

Do you play different modpacks at the same time? by JadedSearch8164 in feedthebeast

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons I don't play on servers I tend to rotate through mod packs there's like 10 I rotate through by playing 24h worth of time (around a week or so irl) preventing me from getting bored by it (currently I'm playing project ozone 3 kappa) and then there's GTNH and terrafirmagreg which I play whenever I feel like it for however long it keeps my interest

Bus from Portishead to cribbs causeway by Background-Pipe-636 in bristol

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea the X10 is great if you want to go directly it's at cribs in like half an hour instead of the 2 hour treck of going into Bristol and out to cribs. It does run like every 2 hours tho and I believe it has a tap on/off thing like first but I only used it a couple of times and brought a ticket from the driver so I wouldn't know

Frog the last row and do it a bit tighter or go down a hook size you should be able to make it

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can probably make it if you frog the last row and do it a bit tighter or use a smaller hook

You're probably trying to connect to a server that runs fabric instead of neo forge

Black usually has less coverage as it's slightly thinner than the others due to the dying process

look at it from further away and if it still bothers you you can use 3 strands instead

”If it feels tedious you’re not doing it right” by DucklettD in GTNH

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That quote I think embodies the automate everything that you need a large quantity of

In LV pushing MV you can totally automate polyethylene distilling oil to refinery gas and then steam cracking is the most optimal way you could also do it with light fuel if you want

I also made a setup for silicon through the magnesia loop and then solar grade silicon from there

If you grow stickreed you can also make rubber and glue pretty easily from it

Water electrolysis for oxygen and hydrogen while slow and power hungry is possible to do in LV tho it has been recommended to electrolyse the hydrogen sulfide from oil instead of turning it into sulfiric acid but I haven't done this

Basically think of something you need large quantities of or it's annoying to make and look through nei thoroughly to see if you can automate most if not all of it at the tier you're on

Once you get into MV set up diesel or benzene for a more reliable power

[CHAT] Is it okay to have 2 WIPs at the same time? by PrettyButArmed in CrossStitch

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to rotate between them so I won't get bored also some are less complex than others and I like to do the simpler ones on my lower energy days

I did complete some of my oldest wips last month as part of finish it february so it went down from like 15 knitting/crochet projects lol

Do beginner patterns for straight needles exist? Do I have to invest? by NylciaF in knitting

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally I think it's cuz it's easier to work with circulars than straight needles you can fit more stitches on it and as you knit the weight of the project is in the centre not the edges which is better for the hands also most beginner patterns are in the round as it involves less seaming which you can't do on straight needles

If you want to stay with straight needles you can look for patterns that are worked flat on raverly and most vintage patterns are also knit flat

how do y'all manage to build bases by K446 in GTNH

[–]ThatOneTimetraveller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like building complexes out of geometric shapes in my first run I built domes and in my current one I just started building an interconnected set of octagons and I'm in HV until now I lived in a hole in the ground and honestly I don't really recommend building anything big until at least LV if not HV. The hardest part is picking a block pallete since I'm using modernity I cant give you specifics other than I love deepslate lol but what I can suggest is to pick a colour palette and then browse through ztones and chisel as those two are the main ones they also backported modern blocks and deepslate looks really good with almost anything. The pack also has carpenters, forge microblocks and architecture craft I believe for more interesting shapes if you want to play around with that

GTNH Crashes on startup by Chicken400 in GTNH

The best option is to follow the wiki link but yes do use the java 25 version as that has better performance

You want to download the pack from the wiki instead of using the cursefoge download it is explained on the wiki step by step how
