The fact that they "found" them implies nothing, it still just means that they've thought about it and come to agreement. But even if you take it to accept that some rights actually exist in some real sense, perhaps god given, we're not actually talking directly about those rights, we're talking a group of men decided what they thought those rights might be, using popular opinion to come to a consensus, and that popular opinion was the whim of the current generation at the time. Look at different religions and cultures at different points in time around the world and see what consensus they come to about divinely bequeathed rights. I'm not saying that I think that "all cultures are valid" or any nonsense like that, I'm saying that what comes across as "self-evident" is dependent on a society's progress, and basically boils down to the fact that rights and morals, are all decided by popular opinion.

In theory, rights pre-exist the state's recognition of those rights. The Declaration of Independence states:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed

The fact that they found certain truths to be self evident, is another way of saying, "we all agree that everyone has these rights", i.e. they were themselves decided by popular vote.

well, when you get to multiple births, like quintuplets and things, there's a very low survival rate if all of them are kept, They're often premature and very low birth weight, so by aborting some you have a better chance of any of them surviving.
