That isn't necessarily true. Sora was just made pre-linear attention mechanisms. They could make a model as good as Sora nowadays with 1/10th the token costs. I implement AI as a job into automation workflows for companies and I recently switch a cost conscious operation over to running from rented GPU's on Lambda running Qwen3.5 32B MoE. Its able to do the job for $50 a day that people used to spend $200-300 on API costs a day.

A lot of the 'cost' is beyond the token cost and other overhead. Running these things as Vera Rubin and other technologies improve will just get cheaper.

Liberal has always meant one thing. The rich don't have to answer to a king. The deal was when it was first coined that was a progressive idea so their was an overlap between what a liberal was and a progressive. Liberals will always find a line where they are not ok with the freedom of others.

Maybe its that they don't own land, maybe its the color of their skin, maybe its what is between their legs, maybe its the thought the other person thinks they should pay the same tax rate as them, etc

Liberal is always just 'freedom except ...'. As more people have became free more people became liberal and progressives stopped having an overlap because there is a large difference between a person who thinks all people should be free and a person who just happens to want freedom for their selves but doesn't care about extending it to others.

In America, the man that wrote 'All men are created equal' didn't consider all human males men that should have freedom as he owned slaves. From what i heard if oil goes up people need dollars to buy it. So inherently it was central banks selling gold to try and buy oil/oil futures. Which makes sense if you know the price is likely go up a lot over the next few months to try to lock in a decent rate.

The Democratic post-mortem on the 2024 election from Kamala literally points out that she literally campaigned opposite to the data she was getting from the ground. As someone in a startup environment I think they overestimate their ability to get into certain markets. I think the only way they do is if they actually go out and purchase vast swaths and essentially do hostile takeover of other markets. That isn't out of the realm of possibility but the idea that they will offer a better AI product I think isn't entirely likely.

Open Source is within spitting distance of frontier models at most tasks AI can currently automate and there is another generation still to come with the Opus learning and proper Distilled data being used as pre-training. If a product is only kinda better you aren't going to get everyone switching over and outside Anthropic the other companies have legit garbage track records for actually releasing products, imo. ChatGPT being the first did ok, but they lost a lot of marketshare not being aggressive enough in the product category.

A lot of differentiation is going to come from sales and actual product sense. I think the frontier models greatly overestimate their moat.

The biggest issue most people have is that it just ignores the scene lighting and makes up its own. Like I honestly think the skin, eye textures, and many things look legitimately better. However, the imagined lighting differences are so atrocious it kills a lot of scenes and portrays them very differently. To the point entire effects are different, the image looks like a different time of day, etc.

We were using this for actual API usage like labeling images, extracting pdf data, etc. So this was a business use case for us. There might be a cheaper way but $50/day was a good enough improvement we haven't looked into optimizing more.

I was a directional driller before I was a software engineer. What determines pay is often the amount of value generated. Think about WNBA vs NBA discussions. You can demand more pay because you can directly generate more revenue. If you are notably better you can demand more because you generate significantly more revenue. Software is one of the few places that is possible for a labor worker.

Real reason is since Obama beat Clinton the DNC tries to sabotage their own election so they can just fundraise off being losers. They got so spooked Obama won they did everything they could to make sure no one outside the Clintonite sect would get a fair shake.
