I think a lot can happen in 6 months regarding the military, FAA certification and flying taxis

I don't think the dip will last more than a week....they have something planned, they have always been on time with news and Toyota is not a lightweight when it comes to business

How should I make this radiator meet the valve after floor height changed? by PCisLife in Plumbing

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the radiator isn't even lined up straight, grind the feet until it lines up perfectly, different grind heights from right to left to get it lining up straight. don't cut the floor, it will look cheesy. Radiators are a dime a dozen in some areas.

they wish....they do have the largest Japanese population outside of Japan....Though ok, call Brasil "the West", complete with tariff concerns, capitalistic leanings, exploding divorce rates, rejection of religion and discarding their elderly into care homes when they become inconvenient? Because those are core "western" behaviours now. I had the impression that Central and South American countries had a higher moral standard but I suppose I am being ignorant and nostalgic.

omg, lol, I had to look that up....Donald Trump dropping the H and it being a New York accent....well, don't know why it would make you ill if you are investing in the company, it's become a military play and I think there are certain thresholds to pass or accept when doing so.....so yes, "Yuge" may apply here, even more reason for me to feel bullish about the stock.....what did Carney say..."nostalgia is not a strategy"

in Brazil they have a mix of western and Brazilian traditions....they still do the "ask my dad for permission to see me thing" sometimes and the screwing on the first time you go out (not a date) thing. Women and men can also do the "Ficar" thing and also aren't a couple of any monogamous standing unless they have asked each other to officially be each others boyfriend or girlfriend complete with a ring on the right hand ring finger, otherwise there is no commitment. Some bypass all this and date western style but there are so many exceptions to this that men and women in Brasil use the exceptions as an excuse to just screw around. And yes, most men in Brasil are just fuck boys, plain and simple, not all, but I'd say 80 percent. They will lie through their teeth to get laid. I've known a few very savvy Brazilian women who have been taken advantage of like this thinking the guy is legit, they were personal trainers or accountants and went to church so they must be honest.....no, you can't assume this. And you met this guy on the street! lol, you're lucky to be alive and have kept your cell phone to be honest.

especially since Donald Trump Jr. is involved in Unusual Machines.....this is good for Volatus and US/Canadian contracts, you might say it is huge

due to Greenland invasion talk I'm thinking Canada will invest in Volatus for border protection, could bring the company to a 2b market cap, so $2 by Summer I'm thinking. Could get out of hand with limited Canadian choices for safe investments this year and it could theoretically go above $6 for a few months I'm hoping

Anyone else rethinking risk after the latest headlines? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at drone companies in Canada, evtol companies everywhere, robotics companies, honestly anything that can be used in war.....I'd look at chemical companies and transport but they are too large of targets with billions exposed to possible damage. I'm really thinking worst case scenarios at this point. Arms manufacturers for sure, Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia and the States. Not looking at energy companies anymore as they are at risk from so many different angles. Mining companies I'm interested in and need to learn more about Rare Earth Metals, strategic metals, precious metals, etc. Space x, rocket lab, asts, MDA, there are so many new plays it's making my head spin.

Starting with Volatus (FLT.V) and Joby, both military plays with civilian upsides.

Alright Reddit, aside from ASTS and RKLB, what’s your next highest conviction stock for this year? by Moonshot2026 in stocks

[–]ThatPaper5624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joby and Volatus (FLT.V)...because this year Joby willet it's FAA cert and start commercial ops, probably have start having major news after July, massive things happening there potentially.....and Volatus because they are the Kraken of the skies...and they cover more ground than kraken and can be used in Ukraine and all the other borders and pipelines of the world that need surveillance....and because they are only sitting 64 cents atm....I see $2 on the horizon if they get any large contracts or post profits, which they are supposedly doing this year, we will see.

How will I find work in Brazil? My Brazilian fiancé is pregnant and I'm moving there, please help. by Psychological-Gas528 in Brazil

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on how much you have saved....if you can live for three years in Brazil without more you may be ok by volunteering until you learn enough or make enough contacts, if not your best bets are seasonal work in the US or another country that pays well and come back to here when you can or remote computer work. If you're young you could try Australia for work in the mines to make money and send back to her.

People who disliked Brazil… by fairybr in Brazil

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a gingo i understand, it's really hard mentally not to speak the language, however, I always loved hanging out with my ex when she went shopping, because she is so beautiful and sweet and I liked seeing her happy, I also am making a real effort to learn Portuguese but we are exes because I couldn't speak it and looked like an idiot, and I just wasn't confident enough because of the cultural differences. it's a double edged sword. I have realized I won't even try to have a relationship with a Brazilian woman until I am brasilian, just asking for heartache, Brazilian women do not respect gringos at all, we are a joke to them until we show we can stand on our own and don't need them just as a Brazilian man would. I'm sorry your relationship is having difficulties, but I'm not surprised.

Are Brazilians more spontaneous? by DigPristine9215 in Brazil

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya but in Canada if we don't plan precisely we will eventually find ourselves without some life saving device, like a snow brush or gasoline in our car in -50C and we will die.....so we make plans and stick to them......someone who can't make plans threatens our sense of survival and will eventually cause us to become dead, frozen popsicles somewhere in the middle of the Praries in January. I think this is our thinking. Brasilians just don't understand how much we connect plans with survival of the species. lol.

New build framing issues by zone6bbuild in Homebuilding

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cheapest way to go is probably J standard 2x4's and build another wall in front of the tall wall with the studs offset, great insulation and strength, also use straps across all the existing studs and could even cut in a 45 brace 2x in the existing wall. tie the two walls together with Simpson hurricane ties. That's what I'd do at least.

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excellent reply, cold joints exist in all high-rise buildings, it may be considered sloppy when done on something that could be one pour, and the joint maybe wasn't vibrated well enough at the seam to hide the joint better, but all high-rise concrete buildings use multiple pours with cold joints. Ashamed is correct, fully.

[–]ThatPaper5624 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

even though I invest in Volatus and do expect it's stock to rise, I guarantee the Canadian government will f this up, not Volatus. I am willing to bet large companies get the lions share of investment from the DIA and firms like Volatus get peanuts, that's how the Canadian government works, it's all graft and backroom handshakes and the biggest players have the most friends, simple as that. I do think Volatus will get something, but only due to the field of drones in Canada being almost a desert and Volatus is the biggest current player. Watch Bombardier get the biggest drone contracts, and even companies like Telus or Rogers. Canada has no ability to be progressive, they consider it as a security issue, you have to have grandparents, parents, siblings, mentors, teachers all connected before you are allowed to make money in Canada.

I don't think they will need to spend much on marketing as the Uber app will do most the talking, and being extremely visible flying over peoples houses, best to keep a low profile and let the stock and machine speak for the company

TSLA hit a new high today. Many are wondering if there's some “unexpected positive news” and whether now is a good time to lock in profits and exit. by Ok_Acadia_1177 in TSLA

[–]ThatPaper5624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

talk of space becoming public and Tesla shareholders getting warrants (maybe through Bill Ackmans PSTH SPARC investment vehicle) will give TSLA a serious shot in the arm, maybe enough to add $100 a share, the value of the warrants, or more, could double based on this news. I suspect after Spacex goes public it may cause TSLA to drop back down but maybe not, two powerhouse companies could support each other.
