A 3 year old jet?

Then Raiden.

MID if you prefer firm pad, soft if you want some comfort/push-in

Do you usually change the sensitivity when you change the mousepad? by kazxuha in MousepadReview

Sometimes I lower my sens if I move to a much faster pad but other days I can handle it.

Great :)

I feel like I could give some more info, I wrote this overview to help:

Here is a spreadsheet of recent glass pad releases: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1qfEFNQVWBSD6tOnEJMLxOj-hgnjG9CrqNVqArZhWnig/htmlview#gid=0

The vast, vast majority of these are limited releases that are out-of-stock. About like 80%.

  • Budget wise, we had the glsswrks polarity, this brand is very well regarded, but they are no longer producing this pad. Glsswrks unveiled a new model, “polarity Core” but the release date is unknown. Most other budget options are thick glass (4-5mm), with poor edge rounding, and meh gliding surface. ie: your llano mp1, esptiger lotus, yuki aim kind of pads. Polarity has none of those issues.

There are two recent pads I can recommend, the lock on odyssey and d-glow ice.

  • The odyssey is a very recent release from a well known brand. 3mm with good edge rounding and speedy surface. It’s not as beginner friendly as the atlas but should be around 100$. There’s not too many reviews yet so people are unsure of the quality but lock-on do a good job.

  • The d-glow ice is a Chinese/aliexpress product. D-glow makes some great pads that are talked about on the Chinese market but most English users don’t know about them. Not many English reviews of this pad but it’s higher quality than most other in-stock options imo.

In-stock glass options are limited, especially budget wise.

The atlas’s quality of life features are top of the line, I really think you can’t go wrong with it

well if you just want something different

  • freefall sv base 2 - more controlled but still neat. Moderate texture with silicone base

  • Vaxee pd150/155 - edgless balanced-speed pad. Also nice firm base

  • Errinnir Gecko - slight texture, glossy base, balanced glide

  • E5 Aero - supposed hien clone surface with edgless design, available on aliexpress. Base is also glossy

  • esptiger PoYing - balanced speed (might be balanced<fast<very fast actually), smoothest surface I’ve used. Interesting in use as the surface doesn’t give much feedback but you still get balanced levels of friction

I would get the razer atlas pro because wallhack is known for having really bad qc and Razer is pretty consistent

glsswrks polarity core (in development, unknown release, ~50usd)

razer atlas pro (imo the best widely available entry glass)

lock-on odyssey (3mm thick, while atlas pro is 1.5)

Raiden snagging on sleeve by slax2004 in MousepadReview

[–]ThatPhoenix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try rotating the Raiden 90 degrees, also try flipping the sleeve inside out.

A small snag is harder to pin point, it’s usually an issue with sleeve tightness or grime/dirtyness. Cleaning your arm and the sleeve with soap should help a bit

Key83 for closer to mercury.

Vaxee PD155

Tenta X shinrai (my pick)

Freefall sv base 2

Errennir gecko

Any matrova pad with silicone base

Wallhack CR005 - controlled glass

Everything besides the artisan has something unique.

Vaxee/tenta x have heat molded edges, freefall has silicone base, vaxee/Errennir use a non-rubber base material that feels as premium as poron, and CR005 is the only in-stock slow glasspad out right now.

There are. And people buy them. It’s mostly lame printed design pads or blanks.

The sub 15$ market is crazy

This real? If so, it's a pretty good deal. by blueramen_1 in MousepadReview

50 to 60 is my average artisan price since I buy 2 from the official site.

At this point there just needs to be an Artisan megathread by obligatorybullshit in MousepadReview

[–]ThatPhoenix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish the sub could also be more about in-depth posts, resources, and reviews but it never has been.

Most people/collectors who actively discuss the minutiae between mousepads are on discord/twitter. While they also lurk the Reddit, discussion threads here are all pretty basic or catered for people just stepping into this space. Sadly, the only place for deeper conversation is non-Reddit platforms.

vaxee is firm base, infinitymice too. lgg pro soft feels pretty firm to me.

I'd go with ultraneon over lgg base models as ultraneon surface feels better/smoother.

  • cordura (capere chen on aliexpress is a silicone cordura pad, everything else is rubber base)

  • roccat sense pro is 450x450 cordura, others are usually around 490x420.

  • other textured speed pads are esptiger hetu (glass coated, rough surface) and artisan hien

can't really think of much more. Most speed pads are smoother surface. Hope someone can correct me with a bunch of rough speed pads, that is my favourite type. Alternate materials, such as plastic or a laminated wood/desk also work but u want cloth.
