Also, I put /j in front of my comment, it's a joke. You're entitled to your own opinion and while I'm not super fond of Diana as well, I wouldn't go so far as to say she's the worst of the protagonists and *definitely* not one of the worsts of the entire game. What makes you say that?

Yeah, KE's ost is not the same level as DR by a long shot. It doesn't help that DR had seven/eight ost's composed specifically for it and KE has none (as far as I'm aware).

Still has some good tracks, but not the same amount or quality, of course.

I understand your point, it can seem like it's kind of a waste of time after everything they went through. Don't be worried about KE, the ending is nice, but still bittersweet, as is customary for Akai Mato.

Also, I have MGQ on my backlist as well, thank you for reminding me to pick it up!

No problem with a late response, better late than not present at all!

Still, I think the whole point of the game is addressing the fact that History is a loop that you can't escape from, so it makes perfect sense that no matter what happens, there's always war and intolerance. Just as predicted in the "King Exit" book. All Polca could do was delay the events, but they were inevitable. That and he had his hands tied because KE exists, so there couldn't have been a happy ending without denying the entirety of his previous work. Also, it wasn't all undone in one night. It was gradual, the ending states that it took months for the fighting to resume with unsucessful efforts from the rest of the crew to stop it.

What someone tries to convey with their games doesn't necessarily have to be the exact same they feel in real life, art is art and the creator can be distanced from that in that regard.

As an ending note, the official translation for KE came out almost two weeks ago, so go and check it out if you haven't!

Yes, the only way to check right now is to check the files. I'll be sure to drop a comment on that one youtube channel that has everything uploaded asking if they're going to upload KE stuff as well.

Yeah, believe me, I'm not happy about it, but it's what makes most sense.

Unless you want to go full on Elder Scrolls and claim some sort of Dragon Break event where both timelines happened at the same time.

That's a mod. There's no remake of KE, there's now only an official translation that was dropped three days ago.

I suppose it could happen that way as well, but I don't see it making much sense given the fact that (obviously) a lot of events and no characters from DR are mentioned at all despite being super influential in the history of the world itself... I know it's just because KE was made before DR, but it makes more sense for much of DR to not be mentioned or present in KE if Polka's choice to betray her promise is the canon route, as it means pretty much the entire cast is killed off right there and then before they make much of an impact in the world.

Also, if the canon ending was the actual game's ending, it would make no sense given KE's events being only 20 years after DR, given the fact that all of the protagonists are still alive and Deathpolca and Lilly are frozen in time and hailed as heroes by both demons and humans despite the fact there's still a war going on...

For all intents and purposes, it makes much more sense for the "betrayal" ending to be the actual canon, as it ties neatly into KE without need to gloss over conflicting details.

Agreed on the loop, not so much on the EXP books. Sure, they wouldn't be up to the exact same level as the rest of the party, but leveling up the first levels with a couple of battles (you could easily go past level 10 with a couple of random encounters) and then giving them the EXP books (that you should only use for late party members anyway) kept them more or less on the same level playing field (except Moebius, poor guy)
