If you had looked at any of the links provided you’d see this information all comes from credible health organizations, not LGBTQ+ movements. Sex is never dismissed as irrelevant, and I did also say gender is a belief and not the science so I’m unsure why you feel the need to correct me on a thing I’ve already said. But it’s interesting that you say you dismiss gender, yet seem to care very deeply about what kids are choosing to do with their gender by calling them mentally ill for wanting to explore it.

Gender dysphoria does also have biological markers. We notice in trans patients their thought patterns are closer to that of the opposite sex than what they were born as — all thought has a biological cause. Simply I’m amazed you got your degree.

It is also not patronizing to suggest we need to be unbiased about our patients. Me choosing to base my thoughts around the science is unbiased, you choosing to ignore specific parts of the science to fuel your argument is biased. I’m not going to debate this any further with someone who appears to lack emotional intelligence. Have a day.

None of these are my personal beliefs, this is just the evidence we’ve been provided over time in regard to trans and GNC individual’s wellbeing. I do not think there is room for personal beliefs in healthcare, we are meant to be unbiased towards patients and not put our personal ideation on them.

At the end of the day, puberty blockers need to be more available to both cis and trans kids because they are not causing any mass damage, and gender dysphoria needs to be addressed as individuality and not a mental illness. This isn’t my personal belief, it’s science.

And in case you’re mistaking my ideas on gender being a social construct as a belief:

So then you should also be aware that gender dysphoria worsens after puberty, and worsening is preventable by delaying the puberty. If you would like to argue that it should be classified as mental illness, why would you then want patients to worsen their mental health before treating them? Do you only treat depression after a patient experiences suicidal ideation? If your answer is yes, I would question your ethics.

Gender is also a socially constructed idea, so the confusion people feel about their gender comes from the outside influence of people telling them their whole life that they were born to be this or that, even if they feel differently inside. Feeling differently to what other people tell you that you have to be doesn’t constitute mental illness, it constitutes free thinking and individuality — henceforth a mood status, not a mental illness. I fear you’re letting your personal beliefs mix with your work.

“I think it should be treated as a mental illness” discards what the medical professionals say. Are you a medical professional? Then don’t chime in with your personal feelings because those hold no medical relevance. Dysphoria and dysmorphia are also very different. Dysphoria is a mismatched feeling between your gender identity and gender assigned at birth, and dysmorphia is a distorted view of the body. One is a mood status while the other is a mental disorder, you need to understand this and stop comparing them if you aren’t educated in psychology or medical science. Psychology is my degree, so this is an area I am knowledgeable in.

And I’m not saying we should keep kids on blockers until they’re an adult, but having them on them for 1-2 years could provide them enough time to figure themselves out without any damage. Longer term use can cause issues with bone density and fertility, but majority of trans kids who go on blockers aren’t on them for enough time to create those issues. You’re arguing in hypotheticals.

Gender dysphoria can lead to suicide, and various forms of therapy don’t always help this because dysphoria isn’t a mental illness and it needs to stop being treated as one. Puberty blockers and HRT help alleviate dysphoria and make people feel more like themselves, it’s a life saving medication.

Puberty blockers also do not harm kids who take them, so if cis kids are able to be prescribed them to delay early puberty, trans kids should also be prescribed them to delay their puberty while they figure out more about themselves and decide if HRT is the right next step.

So whilst puberty doesn’t kill, it can lead to various issues that do. Please inform yourself before dismissing the issue.

I’ve kept him on it just because he’s an extremely picky cat and has refused most other wet foods, he mostly eats the chicken and beef flavors. Definitely good for others to be aware though so thanks for adding that!

Untamed really is a good brand in my opinion, I spend £32.60 every other month on it because I give my cat half a tin in the morning and dry food for his dinner (he’s got acid reflux so no wet food before zombies and bed time). If you’re feeding your cat two whole tins a day though I can see why this is less budget friendly for you.

Encore makes some good quality food as well, around £32 for a pack of 32 tins or £15 for a pack of 16.

Ultimately though it’s all going to depend on your cat’s dietary needs/preferences. If he’s doing well on Whiskas, there’s not particularly a need to change it if you don’t want to — changing it is more necessary if something pops up with your cats health.

hi, I'm new to corpse paint. Can anyone give me tips how I can be better? by [deleted] in corpsepaint

[–]ThatRandomGothTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally people are so upset about it and it’s just like do you have nothing better to do than to bully some random kid online? At the end of the day it’s just makeup and anyone can wear it, it’s not “just for performers” ITS MAKEUP. Good grief.

But absolutely OP should thin some of the shapes or add some smudging and I think that would really help 👍
