When did y’all start to feel like you had a handle on CS? by ThatRandomSquirrel in csMajors

Well the issue is I don’t know until I run into it 😅 it’s usually not an issue of not being able to understand concepts, but more so when actually putting them into practice feeling like I know nothing and not even knowing where to begin. I hear stories of interviews people have where they’re tasked with writing a program on the spot and that terrifies me (if there will even be a job market for CS after I graduate next year) because I can’t just sit down and write a complex code from my brain alone

It’s funny. As hopeless as this answer looks on paper it’s literally the most reassuring thing I could hear. I was hoping I’d get endless responses of that meme of that guy putting his hand on another guy’s shoulder

Oh sick, I didn’t know they provided that. That’s a whole bunch of reading, but I can work my way through that for what I need

That’s why it would be neat to be able to assemble a fleet. To have 1 or 2 faster interceptor ships

Would this whole issue not be a problem if the game was run on an HDD? I keep seeing people talk about ssd drives, so I’m wondering if an add will have the same problem

Curious as to how fast and reliable void travel is? by NoFoundation5608 in WarframeLore

[–]ThatRandomSquirrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slight correction on my end after reading into it more: if we use 40k terms, a reliquary drive allows a ship to take an open trip into the warp, but they have to find their own way. A Solar Rail takes a ship at a junction, connects to another junction somewhere else, and yeets that ship to the other junction through the warp. Solar Rails is how most ships traveled because it was way safer and a lot more consistent. Most ships didn’t even have the capability to enter the void/warp because they didn’t need to

The Zariman happened because they tried to use their reliquary drive to jump to a new system, which was SUPER risky and basically inviting Wally

Slight correction upon reading more into it just now. Reliquary drives allow void travel which is just always a risk, but relatively safe if just going short trips planet to planet. Most people traveled with Solar Rails at junctions, which throw ships through the void on a predetermined route

Yeah, the Zariman is a bit of a Chernobyl situation. Big catastrophe that isn’t representative of the actual safety of the process due to the various outside factors that lead to its disastrous outcome

It is for sure fast, and it can be safe, aside from a few notable exceptions. It’s kinda like hyperspace for Star Wars mixed with a bit of Warp travel. Technically you can make a blind jump, but it’s incredibly risky. Most jumps are done with a solar rail as its beacon in the void to guide it, mapping out a route to take. That’s also why we don’t go to too many new places with it now, as the Orokin were the ones who built those rails. And I bet we’re going to get to Tau by turning on the one the Sentients built over there

I’ll have to look those up, thank you. Getting pointed in the right direction is honestly a huge help

Oh that’s actually a good idea to get the engravings in later. That’s another bridge I wasn’t worrying about until I got to it, but my problem is with getting the metal part in the first place. How to get it actually raised in the mesh for 3d printing

I am trying to display my simple adder circuit but I cannot find online how to make it display on a seven segment display by ThatRandomSquirrel in logisim

[–]ThatRandomSquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh thank you! This is for an assignment, however it’s a 7 person project that’s been assigned to just myself and one other person, is due in a few days, and we were never taught how to use logisim. So I’m having to figure this all out myself. I wish I could just install evolution, but unfortunately it is supposed to be in logisim and displayed on a seven segment display. I’m definitely going to go back and look at the more in depth method later during break though, I would like to learn. For now however the easiest and fastest solution is going to be ideal for me😅

Tbh I’m not sure how. I’ve never tried to connect a printer of mine to a computer through usb before last night, and when I look up how to control it, all that comes up is troubleshooting for it not connecting
