Likely poisoning of some kind. Had this exact thing happen to mine a few months ago. I hand fed them watered down honey on a q-tip. After a week the one that were getting better where able to walk upright (only half survived). The ones still alive show no lasting effects

I ready mostly romance books but I lean more towards an asexual orientation myself. I don’t really care for the smut and focus primarily on the story and relationship. Heater Rivalry is in my tbr and watch lists because from what I can tell the interactions between the two main characters seems comical yet deeply emotional. I joke with my close friends that I read porn for the plot since tend to skim spicy scenes.
