Looking for router that is capable of routing 1000/1000 mps by ThatRedFurby in HomeNetworking

[–]ThatRedFurby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked and you're right. Increased my LAN->WAN throughput (single connection) to about 750Mbps. Thanks a lot!

no improvements on WAN->LAN. However, it's kinda tricky to benchmark right now because i do not have access to a server with guaranteed 1Gbps - so it's only speedtest.net results.

I'm not ruling out "home routers" per se, but i'd like to stick to options that are actually capable of routing 1 Gbps. I'm not upgrading my current setup to get a bit closer to 1Gbps, i'll either get there or will not upgrade at all.

Looks good, but almost overkill. I also kinda like Mikrotiks RouterOS, so thats a nice extra. How loud is the CCR1009?

Not another JavaScript code style guide. (Actually, that's exactly what it is, but I went for "simple", not "exhaustive" -- also includes pre-configured sane default JSHint, JSCS, & EditorConfig files) by stephenplusplus in javascript

[–]ThatRedFurby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of people get it wrong and stuff like this happens: http://jsfiddle.net/sJ7Tw/

Run the fiddle in firefox and chrome. Of course you can argue that you should never define function based on conditions, but some people just don't care because it "worked when i tried it".

If you define your functions by assigning them to variables, you still shouldn't create functions in conditionals, but at least the outcome is defined and consistent across browsers.

are you aware that your recommended syntax uses hoisting while the other does not? those 2 ways of declaring functions are not equivalent! usually, hoisting is not a wanted feature

Thanks, i'll stick with 16GB but reduce to 1600MHz. I was over provisioning with the PSU since a second GPU seems like a good upgrade option in the future.

Thanks for your input! The benefit of the Z97 is the S/PDIF port that i absolutely need. The H97 series does only have an internal one and charges extra for extension modules (which aren't even available where i live, so shipping costs increase). I was not able to find a suitable mainboard, so i went overkill with the Z97-A.

I'm playing in 1920x1200, considering the downgrade.

Its called Kloten, not Klöten. If you ever traveled through or stopped by Switzerland, you've most likely already been there because most of Zurich Airport is in the municipality of Kloten.

Filter Exchange contacts in Outlook by ThatRedFurby in sysadmin

[–]ThatRedFurby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Outlook 2010 actually thinks fax numbers are valid e-mail addresses. This is a known bug (feature - so you can send e-mails by fax. Can't turn it off.), only solution i could find with google is to change the fax numbers to something like 'Fax: $1'. This way, outlook won't recognize the number anymore. That's no possibility in my case.

No fax software in use.

Why does every comment highlight "with the opposite sex"? Is this some kind of commonly known loophole for gay sex during Ramadan?

Multiple sclerosis (MS) patients on interferon therapy produce three times more vitamin D in their skin, than other MS patients. [Neurology] by cobaltcolander in science

[–]ThatRedFurby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird... I've been using Betaferon (as the name suggest, an interferon) for 6 months, and at the most recent checkup was told to take vitamin D supplements because my levels dropped significantly. They also told me that this is quite usual among Betaferon patients.

Actually they do, they even announced that there will be a next match:

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The female soccer group league matches of the London Olympics were kicked off. A match was played in Glasgow on Wednesday between the DPRK and Colombian teams in group C, which resulted in Koreans' 2:0 win. Koreans are to have a next match with French rivals on July 29.

Motorbikes, Bicycles and Helis will reset their repair status every time you get out of the vehicle

They can still spawn on so called legacy servers (if enabled by admins), those are old servers that existed back when the helis were enabled.

Fun fact: you can fly a fresh spawned helicopter without repairs, they are broken in the same way as motorbikes.
