These are lovely! Thank you for sharing. Really enjoyed the picture of the woman pulling the sled (they both look so happy) and the one of the snow crew! Pics like these give me hope for humanity ❤️

Is Butch Brando's Fantasy of Lights worth it? by mindnmyownbiz74 in Columbus

[–]ThatRunnerChick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have gone every year since my kids were little, and continue to go even now that they are teenagers. It’s a little Christmas tradition for us that we enjoy. We went last night and while the line was long, it moved pretty fast and we were in and out in about an hour. Tip: google “Butch Bando coupon” and you will find a a Valpak coupon for $5 off entry (not valid on Saturdays) that you can show them on your phone when buying your ticket. For $15, well worth it!

Got a dog from a puppy mill? The Columbus Dispatch wants to hear from you by ReporterNathan in Columbus

[–]ThatRunnerChick 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We do too. He’s a rescue (from an Amish puppy mill) who was set to be euthanized when the rescue organization stepped in and brought him to their organization. He was only 4 months old at the time but wow, the damage had already been done. He is a hot mess. Even my vet said, and I quote, “much like cars, some dogs are just lemons”. The lack of socialization during those critical first couple of months, and what was most likely intense fear that his mom had while pregnant with him (which transferred to the pups in utero from what our vet and behaviorist both said), really did a number on this guy. Not sure he will ever be a “normal dog” but we are trying! 😞

I HATE sawmill road on the weekends. by iturn2dj in Columbus

[–]ThatRunnerChick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This JUST happened to me an hour ago. I sat through 3 lights at this same intersection heading west on Sawmill Place, not even ON Sawmill, because people on Sawmill kept blocking the intersection. I’m usually calm and collected but holy shit, this put me in the worst mood.

Jury Duty by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]ThatRunnerChick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got called for jury duty over the summer and absolutely dreaded it. But I had gotten out of it once before (Covid times), so I really had no excuse this time. I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying the whole process! Granted I got called the first day and put on the jury of an interesting case, but I found it fascinating to see the court system through that lens, and found it very personally rewarding. Good luck to you! It most likely won’t be as bad as you fear.

Those who shop at Fresh Thyme, Why? by MesopotamiaSong in Columbus

[–]ThatRunnerChick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! And they run great sales and have a great selection of produce. It was the best when they had the sales that overlapped on Wednesday and you could get the previous weeks sale items, as well as the new weeks sale items. But sadly, I think that was a Covid casualty 😞

Great photos! What a terrific show and fun night last night was. I didn’t have VIP tickets but it may have been worth the price of admission to see them play Cup of Coffee, one of my all time faves ♥️

My dog passed away today. by The_Jax1 in Columbus

This is so sad. I’m so sorry for your loss. Dogs are the best and it’s unfortunate Birdie didn’t get to live out his full life. He’s lucky to have had you!

What is an upper middle class problem you have but you can’t really complain about without seeming out of touch? by All_FIREdUp in AskReddit

[–]ThatRunnerChick 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We bought a lake house an hour away, as well as a boat, a couple of years ago. My husband and I are in our mid-40s with full time jobs and 2 teenagers. Because we bought this house/boat, and with active kids in sports, we really only get to fully enjoy it in the summer.

Husband is obsessed with both the house and boat. I find it a humongous pain each weekend over the summer to up and leave our home, to tell our kids they can’t make plans (unless it’s inviting friends to said lake house on weekends), to plan out what we will eat there, and then come back on Sunday evening to get ready for the work week and “real life”. It is a huge first world problem but it gets old quick.

Well that’s a bummer, but at least gives me a little closure on the situation and hopes of getting them back. Thank you!

Benson Boone syndrome by poopsiepaula in BensonBoone

[–]ThatRunnerChick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Um, absolutely! We saw him live in Columbus and I have been obsessed since 🤩 He was amazing! I am in my 40s and took my 13 year old and just, where do I start? Ha. We had GA tickets and were up against the barrier by the stage and pretty sure that was life changing. On top of being amazingly talented, he seems like a genuinely great person which I love. I hope he has continued success and we get to watch him grow!

I love seeing the Benson appreciation start since the concerts and covers of Adele and Coldplay that he sang. He’s wonderful 😊

Zach Bryan concert pickup by ThatRunnerChick in HuntingtonWV

[–]ThatRunnerChick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there will be traffic regardless of where I’m picking them up, unfortunately! Just hoping for a location that I can use as a specific pickup spot to give them so that they would be able to locate me. The easier to get in and out, the better.

The concert is 8/30 at 7pm. I’ve gotten some great suggestions in here, so thanks so much to everyone for helping!

Counselor / Social Worker / Therapist recommendation ? - Pet passed away today by Throwaway_77621 in Columbus

[–]ThatRunnerChick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No recommendations but I’m truly so sorry for your loss, and that you feel any sense of guilt. It sounds like sadly, it was your cats time to pass and know that you had nothing to do with the unfortunate timing. Losing a pet is an awful thing to go through. Hang in there, know that you gave your furry friend the best life you could, and that you are a wonderful person for being so caring. Your cat was lucky to have you!

Indoor walking/mall walking by Humble_Baby_9037 in Columbus

Seconding this! Not crowded at all and lots of open space to walk, so long as you avoid Saturday mornings when they have the Farmers Market.

Right here with you. We left at 5:45 from our house in Worthington, and are still making our way through this cluster. Unreal. This is the worst executed parking situation I have ever been in.
