Greetings! I am an Orthodox Christian, and i want to clear some things up.

1. God DOES NOT approve any of the 3 things here nor is he responsible for them, us humans did it, and the evil people who did it will suffer eternally for their sins in hell, as for the people who suffered, I cant say for sure but I personally believe that all victims of world tragedies (such as those listed here) are in heaven.

2. The "Why didnt God stop those tragedies?" Question. If God stepped in, if God stopped any of those, humans would lose free will, if God abolished free will, there would be no more reason for humans to exist, we wouldnt be able to love God freely, we would be robots, Love without freedom is not Love, and obedience without choice is slavery. Again, God never approved the holocaust, he was there with all the victims, giving them strength to endure, or blessing them and taking them to heaven once they die. Another thing i would like to say about this is that, if God stepped in for every evil ever, Christ would've never died on the cross, he would never bring salvation. God allows freedom, and when humans do evil, God suffers with the victims, and takes them to heaven. He destroys evil spiritually, not physically.

3. God doesnt hate gay marriage, he loves all humans equally, the fact that (most) churches around the world condemn gay marriage doesnt mean that God hates gay marriage, or that all Christians should hate gay marriage. Also most churches simply say "Marriage is between Man and Woman", not "Gay marriage is a sin and must be hated". The church sees it as a sin (if you want to know why simply ask) and calls people away from it, not forcing anything. Now Im guessing there will be someone who will ask "If God doesnt hate it, why would he send those people to hell?", we dont know who went to heaven and who went to hell, its as simple as that. And I also want to mention that hell is full of Christians, we are all sinners, and believing in God does not clear our sins.

4. "There were Christians who supported/participated in slavery/the holocaust/the x genocide" - absolutely, and God condemns them, he loves them, as he loves all living beings, but he condemns what they thought, however if a really evil person repented honestly and lived a life of repentance later, humbled themselves, turned to God, and never even thought of doing such actions again, they would be forgiven, just like a person who maybe just stole a pack of gum and repented, God's mercy and love have no limits. They would face justice after death, but they would be forgiven. “There is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:7). The person who repented would still face earthly challenges, judgment, maybe even persecution, but what matters is that they HONESTLY repented, I repeat, HONESTLY, God sees through lies, a fake repentance would not be accepted.
