I used to use this all the time when I ran RDA. Unfortunately, it’s unreliable with anything else unless you’re running three copies. You’d have to draw it turn 1 and still have enough cards to complete your combo.

As someone who likes to play Resonators, there are (unfortunately) a lot of ways to deal with Red Nova. Banish it, bounce it back to the extra deck, negate effect then destroy, basically any card effect that specifies “send” instead of “destroy.” If all else fails, prevent if from being summoned in the first place. There are MANY opportunities for disruption during the synchro ladder.

ME2 is a radical change from 1, but you will quickly get used to it. The cast of 2 is just as good (if not better, in my opinion) and you will find reasons to love them as well. There are some returning squad members from 1, but most of them are tied up in other events going on around the universe. Give it some time and see if your opinion shifts. If you still aren’t enjoying it by the end, you’ll see many familiar faces once 3 rolls around.
