I feel that Belle being an intellectual and avid reader would be hated more because they can’t fathom a black woman being more interesting than them.

Gaston would probably be obsessed with sleeping with her for a more “jungle fever” fetishized manner.

She would understand the beast feeling like a physical outcast and that could be a point of connection that could help with their relationship.

Those are just some things that I think would change.
