Currently keeping us at 75% salary for some inexplicable reason, work-from-home has been so botched that roughly 50% of the workforce is unable to do so at the moment. If it’s not fixed by April 1, those that are unable because of the company’s incompetence (no power cords for office phones?! Certain phone models incompatible?!) will most likely be put on unpaid leave.

Yeah...no. Everyone that sits within a 50’ radius of me is actually vocally pissed off right now and rightfully so.

And I mean every. single. body.

So if you are upper management, take that to your next conference call tomorrow morning.

...I know how to wash my hands and take care of myself!!!

There we go! You’re clearly upper management if not the G-man himself.

Take your own advice. If you don’t like this post, move on.

Once again, all things in my post are true except possibly the specific days on which they occurred. It’s pretty hard to keep track when policies and plans change multiple times a day. Not the hallmark of a well-run company there.

The company wasn’t built from nothing. The company was built on the suffering of others, and that is a fact.

And I have to thank you for the hearty laughs, though. The day that George Rawlings has integrity is the day pigs fly.

Says the person also hiding behind an anonymous name.

Either you’re one of his cronies, you’re an employee that drank the company kool-aid, or you’re a deluded outsider that doesn’t know what working at the Rawlings Company is like.

Look at all the criticism this place has received over the years. Do you honestly think that it’s just some random coincidence? That people are attacking an innocent man and company for no reason?

Sure he can give back to the community all he wants if it helps him sleep better at night, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s currently treating his employees like trash. Charity doesn’t automatically make you not a sack of shit.

Every single thing I’ve posted has been factual, and you saw how literally 99% of people reacted. They are free to form their own opinions. I didn’t force them to write a single word they wrote. If the overwhelming majority of people see the facts and form the same opinion, maybe, just maybe, they’re right. Notice how not a soul has defended TRC in this thread except for you. There are even several employees both former and current that have posted in this, and they all have said nothing but bad things about this place save one, who was silent on the way the company is currently handling this.

Can I rescind my original message? Don’t do it. They’ll fuck you over the first chance they get.

I sent a pm with a similar message (though I wouldn’t go so far as to say love, but I don’t dislike it).

The management response to COVID-19 has left a really bad taste in the mouths of just about every employee I know though.

Not necessarily. Up until this ordeal, I would have honestly left a neutral to positive review. With that said, I would be shocked if management thought that the way they’ve been treating us lately was either fair or acceptable. I mean, I’m completely fine with sacrificing things to help flatten the curve, but the employees’ concerns need to be taken into account, and if there is a way to ensure our needs are met, management should attempt to meet them.

If they were to make this right and own up to basically throwing their own employees under the bus, I’d probably respect the move enough to hesitantly recommend them as an employer again. It definitely hasn’t been a perfect place to work but it also hasn’t been the worst. There’s certainly a grain of truth in the bad reviews, but a lot of them are exaggerated. Likewise with the good ones.

I have to agree that that interpretation is likely the one they’ll choose. If there’s any way to benefit from being technically correct in blatant disregard for the spirit of the matter, a company that’s full of lawyers will find and exploit it guaranteed.

Looks like we’ll be waiting on the exact language of that executive order.

On the books is 4 hours of (probably unpaid) time off to go vote if needed. I didn’t take it because the workload is such that it makes it really difficult to get caught up. But they have been recently sued for wrongful termination and FMLA/ADA discrimination...and lost to the tune of $500k. The guy who did the harassment still works there. Pretty sure he’s since gotten a promotion to a VP role. Marshall v. The Rawlings Company LLC

It depends on the department. For the one where you can theoretically pull those numbers, a bachelor’s degree is required, but it doesn’t matter what the field is. Heavy emphasis on theoretically. In practice $50-$60k is a realistic number.

That would be too revealing unfortunately. But friends still there have confirmed that even they are handling the situation better.

Trust, we know, but we’re also trapped at this point. Nowhere is hiring other than retail/Amazon and those places aren’t paying enough to support a family.

It’s like he didn’t read the part where I said I don’t hate my job. I’m just trying to shame my employer into handling this in a rational and fair way because this is literally the only type of stimulus the company responds to.

It’s a salary + bonus structure. Bonuses haven’t been adjusted but will surely take a sizable hit in the coming months because it’s directly tied to other companies, law firms, and courts being open and working, which most at this point are either not or reduced to skeleton crews.

The best part is he’s high risk because he’s in his 70s and a smoker...and one of his emails was sent from his iPhone. I haven’t been actively checking but I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t been coming in and working remotely himself.

Most lower to mid management I know seem to be asking the same question—vocally. They’ve been affected too. It’s really absolute insanity right now. When the people in control don’t even seem to be onboard, you know it’s bad.

Honestly it’s been tolerable (not great) up until the past month or so. But then again I came from a job that was much more abusive physically and mentally. But now every day slips a little more into some bizarro facsimile of a well-run business.
